Ford Racing Invitational '08: The aftermath {Autoblog}

Jun 16th 2008 3:21PM As a long-time drag racer and, now, track announcer, I'm impressed with your description of the skill set required for drag racing.

I would encourage all Autoblog readers to visit their local drag strip and give it a try. It's great fun and you get a time slip, not a traffic ticket. :)

Peugeot destroys Le Mans lap record in qualifying {Autoblog}

Jun 12th 2008 8:42PM I enjoy trying to stay awake for the entire race. However, this year I'll be working at the local drag strip and will miss Speed's Le Mans broadcast. :(

F1 Late Night: Alonso, Massa opposed to racing in the dark {Autoblog}

Mar 17th 2007 1:24PM My comment wasn't meant as a swipe against the skills of F1 drivers and I do enjoy the series. However, there's no doubt in my mind that F1 drivers are the prima donnas of the racing world. Numerous series race at night so I don't think it's a stretch the the F1 boys could too.

I recall a quote of a LeMans participant that went something like "I drive 220 mph down the Mulsanne Straight, at night, in the rain."

F1 night racing CAN be done.
