Tweaked 2009 Ford Focus Coupe debuts {Autoblog}

May 13th 2008 11:51AM 'Someone at one of the biggest (if not THEE) biggest suppliers for vehicle dynamic control systems decided it was far more profitable to convince NHTSA and Congress that all cars should have stability control than it was to sell it to the public.'

Exactly. It wasn't safety nazis or left wing idealogy, it was the lobbyists. First rule of business, create a product to sell. Second rule, convince the people they need it. Third rule, if the second rule fails go to congress and pay them to get your product forced on consumers in the name of safety.

GM may divorce trucks and full-size SUVs {Autoblog}

May 9th 2008 12:16PM The gov't isn't trying to guilt you into doing anything. The gov't is acting in the best interests of the country. Breathing clean air is more important than GMs profits.
I swear some of you peeps are so gullible. Either that or you hate liberals so bad that you will see them everywhere someone tells you to look. Do people really think companies will forgo profit and spend cash to upgrade facilities in order to curtail pollution, on thier own?

GM discusses brand strategy, opens bag, releases cats {Autoblog}

May 1st 2008 7:12PM 'And as I've said before, we all as Americans have a vested interest in this company surviving. '

No we don't. The country was here before GM and we'll do fine after they're gone. And don't give me labor stats either. They'd build all their cars in Mexico or Canada if they could. Supporting GM supports GM's stockholders. It's not a patriotic duty to help sustain a small groups ability to make loads of cash. Let GM strangle themselves and watch a smaller more efficient company take their place. That's the American way.

Sorry, your SUV is now worthless {Autoblog}

Apr 30th 2008 11:44AM CAFE helps. Gas prices are forcing people to buy smaller more efficient vehicles but without CAFE those vehicles wouldn't exist. At least not in American car showrooms.
