Anyone who reads Dan's HWY 1 every Wednesday in the LA Times knows that the socio-political commentary overshadows what he writes about actual cars. He's been trying to cast himself as the Yank Jeremy Clarkson, except he just comes off as a bitter hack. Thank god for Autoblog so real journos get a chance, instead of those with "the most circulation".

Mar 24th 2008 6:21PM I worked for a company that delivered cars to the press. We handled Isuzu. They all were tuned and serviced at Isuzu HQ, not at a dealer. We figured out later that the "test mules" were actually tuned to be a little faster than the cars off the lot... surprise surprise!

Mar 4th 2008 2:33PM I have a buddy who's girlfriend just bought a Prius. I asked if her car was recyclable and she laughed. Same thing she did when she realized that a VW TDI driven flat out gets better mileage!

Feb 12th 2008 7:09PM I worked on a rescue boat for a few years in So Cal. Those badboys had gas 502's and nothing but blue paint between the heads and you. Pop a can of soup or whatever on there and run it for a few hours... Bam! Your the Pope of Chilitown.
