Cadillac CTS convertible: American coachbuilding at its finest {Autoblog}
Apr 29th 2008 11:00AM $19,000 doesn't sound that bad at all, actually. Considering these tuner cars that show up for an extra $65K and drop 2 tenths from a 0-60mph time, $19,000 for a chop job seems fine. Youth steers me away from a 4-dr convertible, though. I'll wait until the coachbuilders chop the roof of the CTS Coupe, already a beauty.
GT-R SUV that never was, nor will be {Autoblog}
Apr 28th 2008 12:44PM That'd make you forget the regular GT-R in a hurry, so offending it is. Then again, it's not a whole lot worse than an Altima Coupe. (http://goodcarbadcar.blogspot.com/2008/04/coupe-izing-good-sedans.html) Similarly droopy.
On Her Majesty's Service: 2002 Bentley State Limousine {Autoblog}
Apr 23rd 2008 10:09AM Apparently, the Queen had input herself. At least according to Yahoo. http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/27112007/49/bentley-state-limousine-34.html
Rumormill: BMW diesels on sale in the U.S. mid-October {Autoblog}
Apr 22nd 2008 10:40AM FORTUNATELY, Russell is wrong. The fact that these BMWs WILL sell is great news for those of us who won't be able to afford them until they're six years old. Just think of the contrast between 1-series diesel and gas (http://goodcarbadcar.blogspot.com/2008/01/bmw-1-numbers-across-pond.html) and hope for greater availability of many more BMW diesels. The diesel EPA figures will be much more achievable than is commonly proven by 'petrol' engines, too.
Jeep Commander could meet its demise in 2009 {Autoblog}
Apr 14th 2008 7:08PM Its ugliness alone (http://goodcarbadcar.blogspot.com/2007/11/top-5-avoid-cuz-its-ugly.html) was reason not to buy it. The market expected so much more than the Commander was able to offer. The market expected that some time before the Commander even debuted.
In the Autoblog Garage: 2008 Volvo XC70 [w/VIDEO] {Autoblog}
Mar 13th 2008 1:06PM That fuel economy is shocking, and considering you could save money by buying a V70 and perhaps gain 1mpg, that option looks a lot better. There's no denying that driving an XC70 (and to an ever-so-slightly lesser degree, the V70) is one of the most relaxing on-road experiences a person can have. That's gotta be worth something. Driving the better-looking obvious competitor - Enclave - is NOT as good(http://goodcarbadcar.blogspot.com/2007/09/buick-enclave-driven.html), but money means something. And so does apperance.
Toyota may build individual brand around the Prius {Autoblog}
Mar 10th 2008 10:36AM Yeah, I thought this was an old story, too. Nevertheless, I would THINK that the last thing Toyota needs is another division, with Scion struggling (http://goodcarbadcar.blogspot.com/2008/03/scion-struggles-numbers.html) and a technology that MAY only be temporary as a basis for a new brand. And if Toyota and Lexus get progressively more hybrid-oriented, what would the Prius brand stand for? Sounds like Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Cadillac of a former day. The performance division didn't have a Corvette, the value division did, and the luxury division built cars for our grandparents.
Ghosn dismisses GT-R sedan, Q45 successor likely {Autoblog}
Mar 6th 2008 12:21PM it's sad right now that what was Infiniti's most famous letter is absent from showrooms, except for the gargantuan QX56. Worse still that many of us were left wondering, "Is it dead? Nah, I saw one on the dealer lot the other day. No, it's out of production isn't it?" Considering it is Infiniti Day at GCBC (http://www.GoodCarBadCar.net) and the Q is absent from the party.... Carlos better get things movin'.
Geneva 2008: KTM X-Bow Dallara, ready for delivery {Autoblog}
Mar 5th 2008 11:24AM It's amazing how little this has caught on on our continent (granted, safety regs haven't aided the cause) but hardcore sports cars and track cars have made such headway in the UK, i can't help but think how wonderful it'd be to see an Ariel, Caterham, Westfield (http://goodcarbadcar.blogspot.com/2007/09/extreme-sports-cars-you-may-never-see.html) or this KTM once every day or two when taking the back-road commute.
Geneva '08 Preview: Renault Laguna GT sporting 4WS Active Drive chassis {Autoblog}
Feb 22nd 2008 1:31PM man, the style of that wagon really makes ya wonder why the saloon/sedan is blaa. they can upgrade the quality all they want, and even upgrade the style. renault needs a little of the Clio's sporting presence to rub off on the Laguna if they hope for it to succeed. this is not a thriving market in Europe. a high-powered diesel RenaultSport version. RenaultSport Laguna 197, perhaps? Otherwise they'll be forced to make up the slack with Samsungs. (http://goodcarbadcar.blogspot.com/2007/11/samsung-no-not-your-stereo.html)
