May 16th 2008 10:22AM "My guess is you are a working class person"
It's amazing the audacity of people on these blogs sometimes. Your arrogance is astounding. Based on your elitist comment, what exactly does that mean? What if I was a "working class person"? Is that bad, or does that mean working people don't read or understand things that only a white collared person does?
Your lack of knowledge on the GTO also speaks volumes. Fully loaded? The only options were stick or automatic. Incentives never went as low as 25k. Despite American companies moving overseas, the majority of their companies are over here. Expansion overseas is inevitable if you wish to compete.
As far as rentals go, of course US companies use US manufacturers to stock their lots. Not a day goes by where you don't see dozens of non rental G6's on the road.
As far as Halliburton goes, their tax sheltering scam is a whole other story. I am quite aware of their Cayman Island scam to name a few. But then again, what do I know, I'm just a working class person who knows how to spell Halliburton.

May 15th 2008 11:01PM Franz: It's all good brotha, if we all agreed, we'd be driving the same car.
Tuna: Me saying a car is over-hyped adds to it's hype makes as much sense as a Gallardo with a trailer towing a motorcycle. :P Your assumption is incorrect, I am far from tired of this car. We do agree on cars driving themselves is lame. They should remove all that stuff, and rebate the new owner a Skip Barber gift certificate. Can't wait to go back again next year.

May 15th 2008 9:07PM Dude, from your post it sounds like your panties are in a bunch, especially at your immature derogatory attempts at me. I also said electronics should be left out you yet you say I feel I believed the car can drive itself? If you read my other post below, you would know that I was saying that this car is not infallible as some like you believe it is. No car is.
You're upset cause I pointed out that this car like all have some weaknesses. I'll call you a wah-mbulance.

May 15th 2008 8:35PM Exactly what I was relating to in my point above. In all it's many strengths, there are weaknesses as in every vehicle.

May 15th 2008 8:26PM "In the hands of a good driver this car is amazing, but in the hands of a novice it'll be slow as hell" Excuses, excuses. You can apply this statement to many vehicles. Although it's a fantastic car, it's a bit over-hyped.
I strongly feel that things like launch control, and other electronic nanny gadgets should be out. Let the driver do the driving.

May 15th 2008 11:50AM Jason: The interiors are getting better, but are still pretty bad. Initial interior quality is okay, but I can't see them lasting given the feel of the materials and how they feel "tacked" in to place.
-So you can simply "feel" materials and determine this? The interior in my wife's Aura blows the Camry's away when I compared the two, Autoweek thought so too.
I've owned Jap, the interiors don't blow me away. They all use similar auto grade materials. It's a matter of personal preference at that point.

May 15th 2008 11:21AM Of course not, it's much easier to keep their prejudice perceptions on the General.
I was skeptical as a Subaru owner until I actually went to the dealer and DROVE a car. Not to mention, my all GM fleet has yet to see the dealer for any issues.
Haters say the technology is "borrowed" from the Prius. If it shuts down on the highway, then we'll know it's true (which it of course is not).
PS All manufactures, Toyota included, buy technologies from other companies that specialize in it to utilize in their vehicles.
I just don't get it. Keep your preferences, but don't dump on the competitor's good innovations. It's ok to love your preferences and still admit the competition has something good.

May 14th 2008 11:08PM +1 Very well said. The way a car should be. 6spd, front engine, rear drive, and a button that completely removes the chassis nanny so the DRIVER can actually do the driving.
Remove all of the technical mumbo jumbo and take a driving course I say.

Go GM! If I had 60k burning a hole in my pocket, I would sprint down to the Caddy dealer.

May 13th 2008 12:44PM In 4cyl mode, my SS will do 30mpg once moving. It won't go into 4cyl mode until it's doing at least 30mph.
As far as something in the bed, I'm sure once it gains momentum and no longer needs the torque, it will also. Which is why I love the DOD, when you need the torque, it's there.
