May 14th 2008 5:45PM The purpose of having ASIMO conduct had to do with Honda donating the large amount of money they're donating to help kids get what they need to continue their pursuit of music education. No real other reason than that.
As for living down ASIMO's fall, well, of course they're not going to live it down, particularly if people keep bringing it up. It's over and done with. Now I'm waiting for the real live plot of "IRobot", where Toyota has their ego deflated by this move from Honda and begans humanoid domination to make themselves feel better about nobody caring about their Toyota bot-thingy, thus sending mankind into near world-wide extinction during the inevitable hostile Toyota bot-thingy takeover when one Toyota bot-thingy that has dreams, malfunctions while trying to parallel park for you. Then Will Smith comes out of nowhere and saves the day by building a GM bot-thingy that kicks Toyota bot-thingy's ass, but not before Mr. Smith becomes the last man in the world in New York City and celebrates independence day. the end
Damn, I'm hungry. :)

May 14th 2008 12:39PM My exact thoughts. I actually really like it, but the headlights are going to have to grow on me. Otherwise, this is a much sleeker vehicle than the one it will replace, which is good because I thought the 350Z, while nice, was a little on the tubby side.

No price has been officially set by Lexus.
And you have absolutely no data to back up your claim of this not-even-in-production-yet vehicle being "unreliable."

May 13th 2008 9:05PM I'm pretty confident that from the doors forward is not the car we'll see for production. That front end at the very least is, I think, 2 or 3 years old. The new front end, while not much more inspiring, is a little better.
That said, if nothing else, this car sounds wonderful.

Seriously though, serves them right. They should've gone through the correct means to getting ahold of the technology. You can't circumvent the rules and you certainly can't get away with doing this in such a high profile product as the Prius.
On another note, I thought the Synergy Drive system was the same on all Toyota/Lexus vehicles? Why just charging royalties on the three or is it a different microprocessor system?

May 5th 2008 1:00PM There's also one other manufacturer rumored to be producing a rwd car around the same price/performance as the Toyubaru coupe and upcoming Nissan car. It's going to be a very competitive market and a very good time to be a car enthusiast. At least, I know I'm excited.

May 4th 2008 10:05PM This is a 'Chop. The C-Pillar gives it away. And the wheels don't appear to have propellers as they should. I've seen them before, but can't quite place it.
I'm pretty sure this is little more than a squashed and stretched M3 coupe with what look like Lancer Concept X headlamps.
That said, whoever did this, did a fantastic job on it.
