In the name of faith: GM dealers buy $1M in GM stock {Autoblog}
Jul 17th 2008 4:07PM They made $300,000 so far, how much do you make? Do you make $20,000 a year? Who is the moron? Success is just luck, ask a failure.
First Drive: 2009 Chevrolet Traverse {Autoblog}
Jun 30th 2008 3:57PM Driven the Outlook XR FWD 6600 miles, 22.8 miles to the gallon. 65% freeway/35% city. There are many mid/large sedans that are within 4 MPG of this figure. What is all the fuss about, if people want to buy them then let them, if not so be it. If any of you have driven the different models you would know that they are very different from one another, it is not a rebadged vehicle, they hare platforms. That is not uncommon for any company.

2010 Saturn Aura put on hold? {Autoblog}
Jun 29th 2008 1:21PM The 2009 Aura will have a EPA of 33 Highway, many today would tell you that 35 in the 2008 4 cly is easily achieved.
Autoline on Autoblog with John McElroy {Autoblog}
Jun 29th 2008 1:18PM I drove this car, ahead of it's time. If gas was still $2 a gallon the Prius would be nothing but a afterthought in the market. Some would say that Toyota/Honda/Nissan had great foresight, some would say luck was involved. If it was all foresight then the Tundra/Ridgeline/Titan would not exist in today's market.

Hedging its bets - HUMMER dealer anticipates doom, pre-emptively downsizes {Autoblog}
Jun 22nd 2008 7:53PM I just read a review of the new VW Touareg TDI, observed mileage of 13.8. Now why doesn't some blow a gasket over this performance?
GM says 17,398 workers took buyout {Autoblog}
Jun 20th 2008 9:18AM Since the imports have had plants in the U.S. the domestics have had a significant disadvantage in the cost of labor/benefits/pension/etc. This has reduced the amount of R&D dollars and marketing dollars for the domestics. A company cannot spend billions more for labor and compete. So, if people are looking for who is responsible for this change in labor, pay and benefits, it began when the imports started to build plants in the U.S. and the unions could not get them organized. Simple really.

Rendered Speculation: Vauxhall Astra VXR (Saturn Astra Redline?) {Autoblog}

Rendered Speculation: Vauxhall Astra VXR (Saturn Astra Redline?) {Autoblog}
Jun 6th 2008 8:51AM The Astra is not currently a volume car for Saturn, they expect to sell 15,000 to 20,000 in a year. This will change if production is moved to the U.S. and a sedan/wagon are added to the vehicle mix. Astra is now finally showing up on retailers lots, up until now the supply has been short. You will not pay MSRP for the vehicle if you visit a Saturn Retailer, there are allowances on the vehicle as there are allowances on all the Saturn models. No haggle pricing does not mean you pay MSRP it only means that for a like vehicle everyone pays the same price, there is a difference. it simplifies the process of buying and allows the consumer to make easy comparisions to the market. I drive a 5 sp XR 5 door, paid around $18,500 for the vehicle, it is well equipped, sunroof, loads of standard equipment, upgraded stereo and am averaging 32 MPG in combination driving. What is not to like about this car? Nothing!!!
Prius sales tank in May, Toyota blames battery supply {Autoblog}
Jun 4th 2008 11:14PM When you lose money on a product like Toyota does on the Prius/Yaris you limit production to minimize the loss. Until the production costs of the product are reduced there will be a short supply. Simple really. On the other hand Toyota has Tundra's piling up on dealers lots all over the country. They expected that Tundra sales with larger margins would off set the losses of other products, this could get interesting.
