IMHO:
The basic idea to build a supercar was from the begining Performance above anithing else.
The gtr offers the same performance by less then half of the price (same with the z06).
Its a slap on the face of any supercars brand no matter what you think.
OK !if my first name was "sheik"i would buy a lp560 or a gt2 no blinking.
But if i wanted a fast sport car and money was an issue i would take the gtr or a z06 eyes closed.
So i think it counts preety well in the end.
Bove cars z06 and gtr have more then 50 years of sport heritage.
The unique dIference is STATUS.
A 430 scuderia or a gt2 give status to you.
Off course after decades building only sport cars with no limit at costs or final pricing,brands like Ferrari,porsche and Lamborghini would have an
edge on technology and development.
But GM and Nissan proved that they can bring a good fight to the table for less then half the price.
IMO Ferrari and the other brands will not move a finger by now.but i bet you will see cheaper cars coming from their factorys in the future.
The california is already a little sign and i heard some talk about a new entry level from porsche.
why not??
Would be better from us aniway.

Jul 21st 2008 1:01AM Funny,its faster then the carrera gt,430 scuderia,murcie lp640 and 3 secs faster then the z06.
And it costs 1/3 of the price,"even less" in some cases.
Above that time you have 2 cars you have be "choosed"by the factory to buy one and a couple of bilionaries choice machines.
Still,you get the same naysayers blabbering the same "mantras"just because their beloved car (cof,cof,vette)dont get the same atencion.
The zr1 beated the gtr time already!

retro design is one thing.
terrible ergonomics is other.
good example is look at the minis inside, retro AND ergo in perfect sinmetry.

Take the limiter cutted out would take the credibility of the race.
