Enter the Rumormill: Ford considering F-100 small pickup {Autoblog}
May 12th 2008 2:36PM This is a Ranger replacement. They're calling it an F-100 so they can group it with the F-series. This makes it easier to continue to claim the F-series is the #1 best selling truck.
Personally, I'm glad to see the Ranger isn't dead. I look forward to seeing what it's like.
"Dumb on all counts" - the experts chime in on the gas tax holiday idea {Autoblog Green}
May 1st 2008 8:20PM Free money!!!
THere is no free money. This is just like GW's silly tax checks. The money comes from somewhere. It comes from loans. Loans that we're all going to pay back, with interest, through taxes.
People that think these kinds of things, without a surplus, are a good thing are just fools.
"Dumb on all counts" - the experts chime in on the gas tax holiday idea {Autoblog Green}
May 1st 2008 2:54PM The price went up $0.30 in the last two weeks. What good is an $0.18 temporary decrease going to do. The oil companies will just raise the price another $0.50. The problem isn't the tax.
P.Fezziwig, what the heck are you talking about? The Gov't doesn't make more money as the price of gas increases. It's a fixed dollar amount, not a percentage.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if the oil companies got $2.00 less per gallon and the gov't got $2.00 more. Then there's a chance all that the money will do some good.
Enerpulse claims pulse spark plugs increas fuel economy on hybrid vehicles {Autoblog Green}
Apr 29th 2008 9:16AM I'm wary as to why they're touting it for hybrid cars. You'd think if they were effective, they'd be most effective in your standard gas vehicle.
Smells like poo to me.
Toyota wants to know what people think about higher gas taxes {Autoblog Green}
Apr 28th 2008 4:16PM "Two years ago GM and OTHERS said hybrid technology wouldn't be available until 2015 or 2020"
That's funny. Two years ago (2005-2006), Ford, Honda, GM, and Toyota all produced hybrid vehicles.

Apr 28th 2008 1:20PM The problem isn't the taxes. The problem is the price of gas.
It amazes me that people will riot over a $0.10 increase in the gas tax. At the same time, they put up with (not willingly) a $2.00 increase in gas prices. I don't care about the ten cents. I care about the two dollars.
NYC hybrid taxis double in a year. Guess which is the most popular? {Autoblog Green}
Apr 28th 2008 12:45PM but it's simply not possible for an American company to have a more green solution than a Japanese company. Don't you realize that anything American is evil?
Aw Snap! Honda ASIMO robot to conduct Detroit Symphony Orchestra {Autoblog}
Apr 24th 2008 9:43AM So the robot is going to wave its arms in a preprogrammed manner? That sounds about as advanced as the Hero 1 from 1982.

Yep, Ford, GM, Mopar (Toyota, Kia, Nissan, BMW, VW, etc) have a lot to worry about. :)

Apr 17th 2008 2:45PM Can we be a little more accurate and call it the Coolest Engine for Auto Enthusiasts to Mindlessly Drool Over of the Year Award? :)

I disagree. I would say it's been increasing for decades. In it's hay day, the Taurus was more reliable than the Accord or the Camry. You just couldn't convince people of it. Ford has the same problem today.
The problem isn't Ford vs Toyota. It's the that US bashing is politically correct. Everyone accepts that American's (most of the people reading this) are fat, lazy, and stupid. There's nothing to back that up (except maybe arrogance at one point in time). I could go on about the same assumptions in other industries, but people have probably already stopped reading.
