2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee launch threatened by parts dispute? {Autoblog}

Oct 4th 2009 12:04PM Screw the parts dispute, WTF did Chrysler do to the Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I don't care what parts it uses or how good of an off-road vehicle it may or may not be...it looks so bad I'm having trouble comprehending how that design made it out of the drafting room.

The only way I'd buy one of those is if it was cheaper than wood, cause I'd burn it for heat. It's painful to look at. I have to stop typing so I can browse away from this page and save myself any more grief.

SPOILER ALERT: Getting Back to Work at the 2009 European Grand Prix {Autoblog}

Aug 23rd 2009 3:23PM Agreed. But it should have been (my other favorite old guy) Webber's race. Damn brake explosion!

American Le Mans Series consolidates racing classes for 2010 {Autoblog}

Aug 17th 2009 11:08AM Good point on the rules. I'm curious: which class rules will the new merged GT use?

This could turn out very bad for BMW Rahal Letterman's M3's in GT2.

BMW-RL can claim a first place win in their class this weekend, with a merged GT a 6/7 finish might be great for the team...but from a marketing perspective it is useless.

If I was BMW, I'd want to put my cars and $ into a class/series where I'd have a chance at the podium to promote my vehicle line.

Lotus Evora called UK's best drivers car by Autocar {Autoblog}

Aug 14th 2009 11:08AM Agreed, but can I get it topless? Great looking car, but I have a feeling it will be AMAZING without a roof.

Mercedes to follow BMW and Honda out of F1's door? {Autoblog}

Aug 4th 2009 9:29AM Best thing that could happen to F1! My hopeful predictions: all the big money teams leave, all the F1 and FIA management get canned for allowing it to happen, all the older drivers leave, the rules get changed (implement budget caps and delete the silly rules like traction control/KERS/forced induction/etc.), more low budget teams enter the series (the return of Lotus anyone?), ticket prices fall, the season has more races and more street courses...thereby F1 is then more closely in line with real automotive goals...and F1 is back in the hands of the fans!

EcoMotors: Opposed piston, opposed cylinder engine ups power density {Autoblog}

Aug 2nd 2009 9:59PM I call Vaporware...EcoMotor? How so?

Sure it will get great gas millage and great power - two-strokes run some of the largest and most powerful engines in the world - but do you know what massive polluters two-strokes are? They are incredibly inefficient.

http://discovermagazine.com/2008/may/21-two-strokes-and-youre-out

The EcoMotor's website doesn't explain how the motor is cleaner...they may mean cleaner than a traditional two-stroke...no way it is cleaner than a four-stroke. I don't see how the EPA would let this fly.
