I think so too. But its engine size/vehicle weight and giving people what they want (powerful acceleration usually). A scooter like the Yamaha Zuma gets over 100mpg and a 250 bike like the Ninja or the Nighthawk claim around ~70mpg. Numbers like those should be what other manufacturers should be aiming for at the very least.

Lexus files trademarks for IS Coupe {Autoblog}

Apr 24th 2008 4:36PM To the best of my knowledge, IS always stood for intelligent sport. On the older model it was cuz of all the electronic crap and vvt-i, where 'i' stood for intelligent as well. so this is an intelligent sport coupe.

Tokyo Metropolitan Police urges elderly drivers to give up their licenses {Autoblog}

Apr 3rd 2008 12:03PM I agree they should be tested and health conditions should be a factor in determining whether they can drive safely and not fall asleep or die at the wheel. If they may get heart attacks when people honk at em - revoke. Failing hearing and eye tests - revoke. Had several accidents in recent years related to carelessness - revoke. Cannot function on public roads (too slow, stopping at the worst places and moments possible, can't drive straight, etc) - revoke revoke revoke. This should apply to everyone. NYC has some of the stupidest drivers I couldn't imagine and everyday's commutes are battles. Common sense and good judgment abilities should be tested and classes should be mandatory for those who can't drive (like Asian women haha [I can say this because I'm Asian]).

I'd urge my father to stop driving if I see his abilities falter. He's had a clean record here for 30-40 something years. Revoking is for older peoples' own safety as well.

MSNBC on the pros and cons of scooter ownership {Autoblog Green}

Mar 27th 2008 12:44PM Sigh, the good old days... gas prices approaching $3 a gallon.

I'm considering changing my dependence to a two-wheeler in NYC. Parking, gas prices, insurance are killers. The way people drive here (into PARKED cars), being on a two-wheeler may be a killer as well. Price of owning is very attractive though even as cost of living here gets stupider and stupider.
