May 4th 2008 9:34PM Where are the power-take-offs so I can drive my log splitter? And can I plow with this thing? Model T's did everything back in the day. Will this?

Kerkorian's boy says Ford should offload Mercury, Volvo {Autoblog}

May 2nd 2008 1:57PM Volvo is more of a development house for tech, rather than a market leader. Ford sunk so much into Volvo's R&D so that they COULD be the R&D house for most of their product line.

It seems to me that Ford wanted it that way. They won't sell volvo.

Feb 12th 2008 2:13AM Why would ford ever sell volvo?

Volvo does most of their basic platform engineering nowadays. They lose money, but practically ever ford car is underpinned by a volvo chassis. And their engines are percolating through the line as well. They are a technology source, not just a manufacturer. If anything, they should sell ford of north america. They are the only ones losing money.

REPORT: Ford secretly planning summer sale of Volvo {Autoblog}

Jan 18th 2008 9:24PM No one's big enough to buy Volvo unless it's an outside investment firm. If they sold it, it would probably be a 80/20 or so ownership thing, with the promise of tech sharing, like how they sold Aston Martin. Mulally is too smart to sell off a tech generator like Volvo. Unless of course, Mulally is a total idiot.

That said, Ford will not sell Volvo outright.
