UK Department for Transportation to set standards for satnav systems {Autoblog}
Mar 31st 2008 4:18PM I've made more stupid turns now that I have a GPS than I ever did before. On the other hand, I also have saved lots of time by entering a destination and blithely careening down any road the sexy voice I have set up on my GPS tells me to take.
I'll probably end up in a river eventually.
Nanotech research stumbles on homemade hydrogen {Autoblog}
Mar 3rd 2008 9:06AM That's great - except anything that creates produces hydrogen via electrolysis requires at least as much energy to free up the hydrogen as you get back from the hydrogen to run your car. So you still need a rack of batteries to use the stuff. That would be less efficient than just running off of the batteries.
It might make sense if you were to use the nanotech to create hydrogen at home (from your tap water, perhaps). Then you would effectively be using your house's electricity to power your car. That would be great because you wouldn't have those massive battery arrays that run hybrids and electric cars.

Dec 14th 2007 5:37AM Isn't the belt on that engine run the wrong way? If I'm gonna hang a Hemi from my christmas tree, I'd like it to be accurate.
