Mazda Biante: JDM-only seating for eight {Autoblog}

May 10th 2008 5:50PM Say what you will, but I like it a lot. It's bold enough for a van, but not too much to be hideous. Designing an interesting minivan is tricky business.

In the Autoblog Garage: 2009 Toyota Corolla XRS {Autoblog}

Apr 17th 2008 1:51AM I agree with the gist of what you're saying -- if you're looking for performance, there are better options.

But, it is a different engine. RTFA:
"The Corolla XRS uses Toyota's 158-horsepower 2.4-liter four cylinder in place of the 1.8-liter, 132-horsepower standard unit"

Next Ford Focus will be a "global project", C1 platform coming Stateside {Autoblog}

Apr 14th 2008 11:24PM Well, also, you'll always hear people bitch. On the other hand, people don't usually get worked up enough to praise a decision.

I, for example, think this is fantastic. I think it will sell well, too. Just remember that this is the Internet -- these comments don't really mean anything in any real terms. We'll wait for the sales numbers to speak.

Hennessey performance expanding tuning to include ZR1, GT-R and IS F {Autoblog}

Apr 12th 2008 9:36PM I'm with you on this one. Let's be honest -- the Viper is not a sophisticated machine. It's a big ol' 8300cc engine in a somewhat light body; no fancy suspension, so e-diffs, etc. Hell, this is part of its appeal -- it's utterly raw power in a relatively simple car.

The GT-R, however, is technology that's almost in the same league as Ferrari's technotoys. Tuning it is no simple matter -- hell, just reading about it makes my brain hurt. There's all manner of things that could go wrong if you mess with them. I wouldn't let Hennessy anywhere near my GT-R if I owned one.

Apr 12th 2008 9:32PM Ah, I am out of the loop!

I was half expecting a fully done-up Veyron in the same vein as the Viper mod.

I wonder if any Veyron owners have actually opted for the upgrade -- honestly, any post-production tuning on something like the Veyron seems weird. I imagine they've sort of already done everything that's reasonable; budget sure as hell wasn't a constraint.

Apr 12th 2008 8:07PM "From the Mustang to the Viper and Veyron, Hennessey Performance has spread its abilities across the performance car spectrum"

It sounds like you're implying that they've tuned a Veyron, which unless I'm completely out of the loop, hasn't happened (yet).

New York 2008: Saleen S5S Raptor revealed {Autoblog}

Mar 19th 2008 3:38PM They're supercars. They're supposed to be cartoonish, ridiculous, and ostentatious -- that's the whole point.

New York 2008: The Ute has landed! Live Reveal of the Pontiac G8 Sport Truck [w/VIDEO] {Autoblog}

Mar 19th 2008 3:36PM I don't think we've come full circle with wagons yet. The crossover fad will eventually go away once people realize they're exactly the same as station wagons, but just slightly raised (which is silly, and eats away at the fuel efficiency).

Just look at the Magnum -- it was a muscle wagon, which should have fit the bill for what you're looking for. It didn't exactly sell too well...

New York '08 Preview: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe puts up a targa top {Autoblog}

Mar 19th 2008 3:58AM Oh, and don't get me wrong on this car -- it looks fantastic. I hear it drives decently, too.

New York '08 Preview: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe puts up a targa top {Autoblog}

Mar 19th 2008 3:57AM Yeah, what's with the pathetic trunk space? You'd think that the Targa of all trims would have a lot more space, since that's one of the advantages. How the hell did they manage this?
