Apr 21st 2008 10:33AM For at least forty years now I have been hearing of the death of badge engineering, but it is a very cheap way of getting a little bit more mileage out of a single basic design. I don't really care one way or another. Sometimes, the newly badged car looks better than the original one.
Beijing 2008: HongQi SUV concept doesn't look like a photochopped MKT {Autoblog}
Apr 21st 2008 10:25AM Oh yes it is photochopped. That's my beard trimmer with wheels added.

Apr 20th 2008 12:37PM Well, let's get back to the vehicle. This car is so much like a fine wine. The American version has a bouquet something akin to smoked forest whereas the Chinese version has something akin to the musk of down under.
Damn that Flex is sexy! {Autoblog}
Apr 17th 2008 10:41AM The box shape was old even way back when I acquired a 61 Ford Econoline Club Wagon.
The Flex will do okay, I suppose, but had it been reduced in size by 20%, it would have been on target to sell in volumes.

Apr 15th 2008 3:01PM First time I saw it I gagged. Well, since I have seen a lower line car without that stupid chrome thing on the front fender. That chrome thingee totally destroys the fairly nice side sculpture line. It's a car that fulfills its intents. I have no doubts that it is a competent car for the average person who wants a dependable low-cost ride.

Apr 12th 2008 11:52AM I do not sigh for lack of a diesel automobile now. I did a year ago. Diesel vehicles are expensive to buy and now with diesel fuel almost a buck more a gallon than gasoline, there is no way to come out economically.
Pontoon Boat burning a hole in your pocket? Trade it for a JaguaRanger {Autoblog}
Apr 9th 2008 6:47PM I'd be plum proud to drive it around here in Appalachia. Now, I would worry about putting a load in the back. That thing is gonna break apart for sure. But, I like it and the 305 is just fine except for the carburetor. Man, I am so thankful for fuel injection. I had a 95 305 Silverado with a five-speed manual with a 3:08 rear end from the factory. It got over 20 MPG on the highway and was only turning around 2100 rpm at 80 mph.

Mar 14th 2008 11:17AM I don't know what I will think about this car ten years from now, but for the moment it strikes me as one of the best looking small cars ever!
Wagoner disagrees with Lutz on global warming, bets against states' rights {Autoblog}
Mar 11th 2008 5:02PM Well, let's suppose you are paying your employees more than foreign manufacturers. Let's suppose that your recent losses mean that you have less capital to develop fifteen versions of the same car times the number of cars you offer. Toyota could afford to do this more easily right now and they are hoping GM will do their bidding for them.
I think the states should be able to do whatever they choose. Some buyers in some states will wind up with fewer automotive choices.
One standard for all states would make cars cheaper.
