Geneva 2008: updated Alfa Romeo 159 {Autoblog}

Mar 10th 2008 12:25AM I was in Europe83 this past summer, and these things even stand out there. It is an amazing design that will last for ages. Sadly we wont get it here in the US.

2009 Hyundai Sonata gets big bump in price {Autoblog}

Feb 7th 2008 6:15PM Iran and what?

If you are in the market for the Camry/Sonata/Malibu, you pick the one that gets the right payments for you. Most consumers could care less about a 1k diff if they wont see it in thier payments, thats the way we work/ Hyundai is just trying to offset thier discounts someway.

Volkswagen Phaeton: coming back to America? {Autoblog}

Feb 4th 2008 11:04PM But once again, the Genesis is at the price of a Loaded Passat but give you S/7/Phaeton/A8 size. So its a great Value, which is how Hyundai has/is building itself.

VW builds great cars, no doubt about it, but they need to look at the competition and realize consumers have a choice and do cross shop between brands. No one will pay 70k for a Phaeton thats sold just as if you were buying a Jetta. They want to be treated like gold, like when they walk into a Lexus dealer. If you are in doubt go shop at a Lexus dealer and a VW dealer. Within 2 min you will make up your mind about who offers you a better service.

These days product alone isnt going to cut it. You have to back a car up with post-sale service. You want to be made sure you made the right decision. People would buy a POS Aveo for 20k if it had a Lexus badge just because they know what Lexus is all about (realiability, Service, Depreciation, etc)

Volkswagen Phaeton: coming back to America? {Autoblog}

Feb 4th 2008 11:36AM VW needs to take a look at a little company called Hyundai. They are bringing in a S-Class sized car for the price of a better Passat. I dont know what kind of math the VW execs are doing, but when a company like BMW outsells you month after month, its time to take a look at what you are selling and realize that you are the people's car company and should build cars accordingly. The Jetta fully loaded shouldnt cost more than 23k. I dont care how "fun to drive" the car is, but when a person has a choice between a base model 1/3-Series vs a Jetta/Passat, I wonder what they will pick. They should leave the "nicer" cars for Audi. and focus on main stream cars. At this point I wouldnt be surprised if we see a 50k Passat next year "that features abs"? WTF, who still says they "feature" ABS? Its not 1987 anymore. VW is just not connecting with thier prospective buyers. Im sorry but VW competes with Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda, maybe a few others. Thats it. The US dosent need a Phaeton, no matter how great of a car it is. Its still a VW, it still shares the same dealer netwrok as the 15k Rabbit, just refering to the "sophistication" of the dealer service dept. You feel like you are at a child care when in the waiting room. VW should focus on trying to bring Lexus quality for a "what should be" a VW Price.

Will the real Tahoe/Yukon Hybrid MSRP please stand up? {Autoblog}

Nov 9th 2007 4:01PM When will we see a large suv such as a Tahoe with a regular 3.-3.5 liter 6-cyl Diesel motor in it. There is no sense to make it a V-8 as a v6 diesel has as much power as a regular v8.

VIDEO: Volkswagen talks diesel at the SEMA 2007 show {Autoblog Green}

Nov 6th 2007 8:33AM Wow! After watching this video I realize that VW has no idea what people in America want for a car. No wonder BMW sells more cars month after month than VW in the US.
