Au revoir, Montréal: FIA cancels Canadian GP for 2009 {Autoblog}

Oct 7th 2008 11:56PM This is partly the fault of North American sponsors and organizers. F1 is big business in Europe and Asia, as far as advertising goes. If there were four races in Canada and the US there would be no question of removing one of them. Why not a New York GP with an amazing street course set up in one of the boroughs? Why not bring back Long Beach as an F1 venue? Surely in the hundreds of millions that is spent on these teams there is a bit in the budget to bring some action to this part of the world?
There should be more public outcry, too. We lost a CART race here in Vancouver due to (a miniscule amout of) complaints about noise etc - nobody stood up for the race, and the legacy that was the Molson Indy Vancouver is now gone, soon to be ugly towers. Bernie needs to go, we need a North American megalomaniac to run the show!

Discuss: What's the Best British Film Ever? {Cinematical}

Jul 1st 2008 2:15AM 1. A Clockwork Orange
2. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
3. Any of the classics - Lawrence of Arabia, Kwai, etc.

Honestly, they must have surveyed fat housewives in a mall in St. Louis because Four Weddings, though British made/directed/written, is a decidedly American movie.

Lutz: Volt will cost $40,000, first-gen will lose money {Autoblog}

Jun 19th 2008 11:28AM Oh well, so much for that one. With a Prius hitting $35,000 here in Canada, I wouldn't be surprised to see us overcharged for the Volt at $50,000.

BMW dealer auctions new M3 for $60K on eBay, doesn't want to honor the deal {Autoblog}

Mar 23rd 2008 2:19PM Even Microsoft didn't learn the lesson of bad PR when they tried to sue the 16 year old kid who had "Mike Rowe Soft.com" (that was his legal name). It blew up, they admitted the F@#kup.

BMW dealer auctions new M3 for $60K on eBay, doesn't want to honor the deal {Autoblog}

Mar 23rd 2008 2:08PM While there is no legal requirement for the dealer to complete the transaction, as is involved with eBay (there may be other rules applying to dealerships according to state law) their own auction does say "WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ANY BIDS AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON."

If this were the case, why didn't the dealer just end the auction early, cancel the bids, and say that the car was sold locally? Our buyer friend would have moved on!

Mar 20th 2008 1:36AM While we are on the topic, where is a good place to get measurements or a template for preparing an image to be sent to an Epilog? I know a guy locally who has one and has done some tests on old Acer lids.

And for those asking... most place I have found are charging $30-40 to do it.
