Jul 24th 2008 10:44AM A very agressive plan, Mullaly seems to have a good plan. I hope Ford has the cash to put it in action. The new Fiesta and Focus in 2010, plus probably the C-Max (Mercury?). Consolidating products worldwide seems like a no brainer but it took an outsider to implement it.

Jul 22nd 2008 3:43PM A large part of the increased mpg is due to the car having a manual gearbox. Most Americans prefer not to shift their own gears, so GM will need to offer a 6 speed auto to get the same mileage. In a car like the Cobalt that would mean a sizeable price hike.

Jul 22nd 2008 11:23AM California is the trend setter in the US automotive world. It is the largest state with the most car sales. It is a good test bed for new products, plus Cali has the toughest smog standards in the US. Also the weather is much more conducive to eletric cars.

Jul 22nd 2008 10:34AM The SS designation was first applied to a bread and butter sedan, the Impala. I agree that SS should be used for performance cars only, but not just Camaros. My HHR SS is quicker in the 1/4 mile and 0-60 than a 396 SS Chevelle. Also i doubt the Chevelle would make it around the 'Ring in under 9 minutes.
