Jul 23rd 2008 1:30PM wouldnt a run with/against the current 911 turbo (automatic) be a more precise comparison, rather than the gt3 you invited? both are awd and both are boosted.
also, i did concede that the gtr and the 911 are two different animals, but, if you get away from the apples to oranges sentiment, i feel that (yes this is just one opinion of many) one car emerges to be superior, and that car is the gtr.

"soul" is a highly overused, extremely hackneyed, overly subjective word. im a porsche-phile myself (not an owner, but driven many), but in all gtr vs 911 comparos, every reviewer is now making that argument-that the gtr is "soulless" as if to say, that the gtr has so immeasurably beaten the 911 in every which way, in all aspects, that the only shred of dignity left in the 911 is its soul. the gtr is a game changer, and really, thats the end of story. im a big fan of top gear too, so ill just say that clarkson also agreed, and said that the gtr is the new yardstick by which to measure other cars.
just as nissan took apart the 911, im sure other high end manufacturers will now be doing the same. again, as much as i love porsche (and yes i know theyre different types of cars, doing things differently), the gtr is just fn amazing. and in my book, better in every way.
