May 14th 2008 10:49PM Anyone notice that when there's good news coming from Gm and Ford all the Toyota trolls come out of their termite holes?
Still waiting for Oby to tell us about the demise of GM.

May 12th 2008 6:04PM Pay no attention to "thedevil". He still holds a grudge against Ford from when he had to call the fire department to pour cold water on him when he and his boyfriend were stuck together in the back seat of his Escort. Bow wow.

May 12th 2008 5:41PM Don't know where you hail from but anyone here in the rust belt could never make the claim that a Toyota or Honda of ten years or more are still on the road with more that 80% of their sheet metal intact. Yes, the Taurus and Sable rusted badly, but next time you're in Chicago, take a good look. The older Toyota's are nothing more than buckets of rust.

May 9th 2008 9:03PM The devil,
I personaly don't rely too much on blogs or Edmunds for that matter. I rely on my own judgment.
You want to talk trucks, talk to me. For the past thirty some years I have relied on trucks for a living, currently owning 14 pickups, all tow bobcats or form trailers, all are used far more than expected for heavy duty. All tolled, over 50 trucks in the past thirty years.
I also rely on a vast network of contractors and sub-contractors first hand expertise. Only two people I know have new Tundra's. (we'll use the name Tom and Jerry), Tom's is very please with his Tundra, he's a home builder. Tom usualy comes to the site in a golf shirt and dockers, never picking up a tool (probably would'nt know a claw hammer from a sawsall). The heaviest thing he hauls in his Tundra is a calculator, slide rule, tape measure and laptop. He also parks sometimes a block away from the site fearing mud.
Now Jerry, well, He uses the truck like a truck is supposed to be used. As he says, "when it's not f#@&in up." Little things like a broken tailgate and over 3K in damage when the bed slammed into the cab and broken radio, passenger window that works less than half the time and front brake pads twice in the trucks 26K miles. He swears that when the housing market picks up again the first thing to go is the Tundra.
Each year I try to buy two replacement trucks and I did give a good look at the 2007 Tundra at the Chicago Auto show. It only took five minutes to come to the conclusion the Tundra was nothing more than a wannabe.
I get the impression you are no more than about 15 years old and probably only wishing for a clue. But, if you want real truck experience, talk to me. You'll learn something

May 8th 2008 7:53PM Insiders say their loss could have been cut in half had it not been for the massive amount of money spent on Tundra repairs and all the other recalls.
By the way, the G in God is capitalized.

Obama picks worst car ever to come out of Motown {Autoblog}
May 7th 2008 8:03PM psarhjinian,
Perhaps if you knew that Nobama's friend and minister of twenty years is being given a retirement gift of a 10,000 sq. ft 6M dollar home while poverty and despair abound just blocks away from his church and a substancial contribution came from Nobama would make you wonder? Old news so perhaps not. And all from an area surrounded by poverty.
But did you know that NO black contractors or sub-contractors were invited to bid on any work on that house and No black workers were ever seen in or around the construction site? Or did you know that 90% of the work being performed on that house was done by an illegal immigrant work force all with the full knowledge of Nobama? And he had the nerve to belly up to labor and the unions. Two faced? You be the judge. Fact: Nobama has made several visits to that home since the start of construction.
So all of you that say he's the greatest hope for our future, how do you feel about how he treats his brothers? Don't tell me how he has nothing to do with the actual construction. One of his cronnies (real estate and builder buddies) is on trial right now. What's this got to do with Nobama? Everything. Shows what he's really made of.
Wonder how I know? I live two blocks away.

Tom,
"My position is that if you've managed to make the system in this country work for you in order to accumulate wealth, you have a moral responsibility to give back to that system so that others have a chance to do the same. Pulling the ladder up behind you so others do not have the same chances you have had is just disgusting."
In response, I began my business back in the mid-seventies and struggled for the next seven years sometimes not not making enouph to make payroll let alone pay myself. I never asked for welfare, food stamps, or any other hand out from the government or any other source. Over the years my business picked up steam and I have given my employees good union wages, health care and contributed to their pension fund. Many went on to start their own busineses.
My moral responsibility is to my family and my employees, and not to anyone else who is too lazy or too stupid to realize that this country offers an opportunity to anyone that has the testicle fortitude to succeed on their own. I paid well over $300K in payroll and other business taxes last year not including taxes I paid to local communities.
Illegal immigrants pay little or no taxes, so get off my back.
Pulling the ladder up behind me? Damned straight buddy. How about if they buy or build their own ladder and put it up themselves?

May 4th 2008 11:45AM Thank you for your concern about my Caddies sunroof, but neither mine or my wifes Caddy is equipted with one. For that matter nor do the two classics in my pole barn. (don't mean to hurt your feelings with the word "classic" since the words "classic" and "Toyota" are oxymorons or double negatives when Toyota is mentioned)
And since you're so concerned about my Caddies, you'll take comfort in knowing that my wife's nightmare from hell Lexus lease has been terminated and she now is the proud owner of a CTS. She says she will miss all those visits to the Lexus shop, everyone there knows her by her first name. And the free coffee and confections, well, let's just put it this way. Through all the visits, she probably gained 10 pounds.
Now back to subject at hand. Recalls.
Just curious, but what was your response to the Tundra's failing tailgate? Bad camshaft? Wobbling bed? Rattling dashboard? Failing radios? Failing outputshaft? Failing ball joints? Out of control shaking at highway speed? Or the infamous Toyota sludge issue? The FJ cruiser's cracked structural welds? The siena's structure failures? Prius and Camry steering failures? and so on.
Yeah, I thought so. Quick change the subject back to domestics.
You're like a little kid. Don't address the problem, just divert attention to others faults.
Johnny, are you playing with matches? No mommy, but Bobby is playing with a lighter.
