People need to wake up. No company in their right mind would guarantee to preserve jobs when they are losing money. Japan was renowned for having lifetime employment in the past. They would cut back work/production before terminating their employees. This changed when the economic bubble burst in the 90's.
Noone has this sort of job guarantee/security.

Sep 24th 2007 4:12PM Are you reading what you type? Get a smaller home you nut. If you can't live off of 50K net income, you have serious spending issues. Don't tell me they are barely getting by. Get a smaller home, spend less, don't have a litter of kids, etc. And obviously you don't have a mortgage because your figures are way off. 270k is probably running a little less than $2000 at 30 year fix mortgage at 7.75%. That's if you don't put down any down payment.
