Toolkit upgrades - some simple things we find handy {Autoblog}
Jan 18th 2007 3:00PM I have to say that an 18" breaker-bar is the most indespensable tool I've ever owned. There is always that one nut/bolt that just won't budge with a standard 1/2" ratchet. I never invested in one for years and didn't know what I was missing.
I also keep a pair of mechanics gloves in there, but I always forget to put them on until AFTER I've busted or scraped a knuckle - doh.
One thing I try to do is keep a few smaller toolboxes that are "specialized" to a particular job. One with electrical stripers, some pieces of wire, electrical tape, heat shrinks, etc, etc, for electrical work. Another larger, but still portable toolbox with air tools. Yet another with metric ratchets, wrenches, etc, etc, for automotive work requiring hand tools. When I'm doing a particualar job I just grab the appropriate tool box or boxes for the task at hand.

Dec 27th 2006 4:19PM I always wanted a Shelby Cobra 289. The 427 is beautiful, but the 289 has some understated elegance to it as it still had the original AC styling and British influence. The 427 ads the american muscular haunches and styling that make it an unmistakable American icon, but the 289's subtlety makes it a rare beauty.

Apr 17th 2006 12:15PM First car I bought and paid for myself was a 1982 Chrlysler Lebaron sedan (K-Car Baby!!!). White with a white vinyl top and red interior. I paid $200 for it in 1994. It was cheap and it ran, so I bought it. I drove it for about 2 weeks before the exhaust fell off of it. I parked it for about a year and gave it to a guy to use in a demo derby. He drove it away. Man I miss that $200.
