Nissan recalls over 140,000 Altima sedans {Autoblog}

Jul 12th 2007 10:32AM Having just purchased my first Nissan in the form of the V-6, six-speed manual 3.5 litre Altima SE, my heart will go out to all those who mistakenly elected to save a few payments by opting for the 4 cylinder 2.5 version... Though the 'problem' seems an easy enough fix.

JUVENILLE- your comments really reflect your moniker. My suggestion to you would be to go drive one before you pull another opinion out of your 'wherever you find them.' I've owned a 1990 Mustang 5.0, a 1998 Mazda RX7 and a 2001 BMW 3... My new Altima could go toe to toe with any of them, any day of the week. You have no idea what you're missing when you limit yourself to uninformed conclusions.

May 2nd 2007 9:38AM "...let us know if there is a better looking car in white for under $75,000."

How about a 1997 Porsche Carrera? MSRP starts at $71,300 USD.

Feb 23rd 2007 12:22PM I don't know why there seems to be such negative responses generated by this story/car. Seems like it'd be a blast to take a run at 240 while applying anti-itch ointment to your ass (chaffing... alligator... it'll come to you in a minute).
But, I will say that dropping an extra $150-200K on a car that (to me) seems overpriced is about as smart as putting high-heels on a giraffe... time should be better spent.

Feb 23rd 2007 12:05PM That has to be the coolest thing I've seen this morning. Fantastic television! I think it was better NOT having the car detach; I sat here dreamily envisioning my loquacious mother-in-law strapped-in to the "cockpit" head to foot, frantically pressing buttons and turning dials, screaming at the top of her lungs to me on the ground, "This is all your fault!" And I, remote control in hand, smiling through a shoulder shrug as if to say, "Yes. It is."

Feb 15th 2007 5:58PM Brilliant! I'm so tired of Corporations and their ad companies insulting my intelligence by over-emphasizing the obvious. It's almost as if they're trying to make us dumber by talking to us (target demographic) like five-year-olds.

I find these ads interesting and inventive. And, perhaps more importantly, effective. Show me a 'Stang and I'll try to imagine myself driving it. Show me what it "feels" like to drive it and I'll more likely imagine myself buying one.

Hot Wheels Amy saves Shelby Automobiles, Inc {Autoblog}

Dec 20th 2006 9:13PM Both terrible (that Shelby was in such a state of disarray) and inspiring at the same time. There are a few other "auto makers" (I use the term loosely) here in the U.S that could benefit greatly from looking beyond their own tremendously ineffective business models and short-sighted, if not down-right ignorant, interpretations of what the public wants.

BTW: Will someone pleae explain to me what the point is in decrying that this article or that was printed on such-n-such a site however many days ago. Is it some manifestation of an inferiority complex or just an abscence of tact?

Truckers say Louisiana has nation's worst roads {Autoblog}

Dec 13th 2006 8:45PM I'd like to know what criteria was used and whom it was used by. I got my license in California and lived/drove there for 15 years, I now live in Texas (7 years) and THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON BETWEEN CALI DRIVERS & TEXAS DRIVERS. Texas, by far, has the worst drivers (four-wheelers) I've ever seen or heard of (and that's saying alot for someone who's been to Japan, Indonesia and India). It's almost as if the Texas Dept of Public Safety instructs people to drive with their heads (all the way) up their asses. I used to a patient, mild-mannered driver... now, in my late 30's, I need blood pressure meds just to drive across town.
