Best city for food isn't Paris {Slashfood}

Dec 9th 2007 9:37PM The Japanese really do know how to do French food as I had the best French meal of my life last month when I was in Japan.

Who REALLY invented Eggs Benedict? {Slashfood}

Apr 9th 2007 4:25PM Yikes! I hope that permissions were obtained for the use of that image from the NYTimes. It is not uncommon for people to hotlink images, but hosting someone else's images or cropping/recompositing them should be a big no-no unless explicit permissions are obtained. At the very least, Theo Coulombe should be given props for the image with a link to where the image was originally published. If not, I'd pull that image tout de suite.

Who REALLY invented Eggs Benedict? {Slashfood}

Apr 9th 2007 1:37PM The best Eggs Benedict in the world are to be found in Mt. Eden, New Zealand at a place called Frasier's where they also pour a mighty impressive latte.

SmartUSA offering $99 reservations to gauge interest in the ForTwo {Autoblog}

Feb 5th 2007 12:02PM This is another example of where MB, nee Daimler Chrysler, nee Smart is not being very *smart* about their marketing. I've written about this before and now they are years late bringing the car to the US market, losing any advantage to BMW, Toyota and others with their offerings which will appear in the same time frame, and now they are offering us the opportunity to give them $99 US for what now? It is not entirely clear to me what this money gets me. Anyone?

Smarter people more likely to be vegetarians. {Slashfood}

Dec 28th 2006 5:54PM I would suggest a more likely causative issue here is that vegetarians often (at least in Western cultures) have the luxury of being vegetarians. Given that they enjoy a higher economic standing, they are more likely to attend better schools and have more access to educational resources. This is the dangerous thing about statistics, right? After all, being a vegetarian does not predispose you to being smarter or having higher economic status. Rather it would be an outcome of having higher socio-economic status and IQs correlate quite nicely with those stats.

The Autoblog After Christmas Sweepstakes #2: Automoblox complete set {Autoblog}

Dec 27th 2006 3:30PM Growing up, I'd always lusted after a Porsche 911 Turbo. I wanted one then and I want one now, but hopefully it is a dream that I have a few years (60 or so) to achieve.

EVOO added to the dictionary {Slashfood}

Dec 11th 2006 11:30AM Oh, for the love of...... Are they going to include "yum-oh" next? Ooooh, what about "delish"?

I don't intend to be mean about it, but the over-exposure is starting to grate on me. Many of the places I go for culinary resources are being populated by Rachel Ray and her nicht so gut culinary skills.

How to clean your Apple Keyboard {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 17th 2006 5:24PM I've found that simply unplugging the keyboard and running it under the tapwater, thoroughly washing it out does a nice job and you don't have to worry about disassembling it. I was forced to try this approach after spilling a Guinness into the keyboard.

Just make sure to dry the keyboard *completely* before plugging it back in.
