Alfa Romeo confirms SUV for 2010 {Autoblog}

May 21st 2008 6:10PM EVERY car in manufactured today should have Start-Stop. It's so obvious. So smart.

I'll second the "it looks like a Hyundai".

BMW 5-series hatch cometh {Autoblog}

May 21st 2008 5:59PM Exactly. Saab... are you watching? This is your chance with the new 9-5 to get with the SPORT, the UTILITY.. in one fast, sleek sexy sedan that goes both ways. It's a wake up call..

Good for BMW though. People moving out of SUVs still recognize that utility is invaluable -even if they don't want a wagon (why I don't know, but that's an argument for another day).

Geo Metros going for big money on high gas prices {Autoblog}

May 16th 2008 9:12PM Sorry you're sorry. Don't be. BUT, I believed as you did the stickers were LPG/Hybrid/Electric only. However there was a VX was on CraigslistSF a few months ago. According to the dude selling it, it was legit and he maybe even contested to get them arguing that the VX got way better mpg than any current cars. The pix definitely had the stickers in all the right places. Who knows. The stickers are all gone now, anyway.. and expire in a few years regardless.

Geo Metros going for big money on high gas prices {Autoblog}

May 16th 2008 6:04PM The WAY better car to try to find, if it hasn't been modded into a poser SI, is the '92-94 Honda Civic VX. Got about 51 city, 62 highway. I had one. Comfortable, more rear leg room than my friend's E-Class, airbag, looked good, ran beautifully. THAT was amazing. In California, there are even a few with the coveted carpool lane stickers.. being far better on gas than the hybrids.

ABG First Drive: 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid {Autoblog Green}

May 16th 2008 12:00PM With the bettering of the brake system, I'm curious if the formerly atrocious stopping distances of the hybrid are better. If they are, plus the de-tinning of the body structure, I can't see why this wouldn't be a pretty perfect car for a broad smattering of demographics. It has hybrid cache (which deems it class-less, like a MINI, smart or Prius), holds enough, moves fast, should be safer, up to 40 on pure electric, good mpg.. seems to check a lot of boxes. The taxi Escape Hybrids I rode in in NYC seemed tough, solid and fun. The cabbies LOVE them.

AC Schnitzer takes on the MINI Clubman S {Autoblog}

May 14th 2008 7:34PM I love a weird car.. and the Clubman definitely works for me there.. but I have to say, painting the vertical corner pieces flanking the barn doors (a totally over styled feature, imo) really tames down an after-thought of a design element. I couldn't care less about a modified car most of the time, but points for good makeup.

Subaru Exiga heading to production, teaser leaks out {Autoblog}

May 12th 2008 2:18PM That 'wagon' you're talking about, is classified by as a TRUCK (or by some insurance companies as a VAN!), just in case you mistook it for a station wagon.

Craigslist find of the day: Electric Volvo {Autoblog Green}

May 12th 2008 11:15AM I like Mike's comment.. EXACTLY what is keeping real manufacturers (rather than shade tree mechanics) from making simple electric vehicles? I saw this Volvo on CL last week.. and it's so close to my house, I'm thinking of investigating it, as a replacement for our smart fortwo.

It's happened: Boy hit by hybrid, mom blames quiet running {Autoblog}

May 8th 2008 2:42PM I'm not a Prius driver, but I have rented one. It's a very neat car -however, one reason I never bought one was because the dashboard is very unfocused and somewhat dazzling. After driving a BMW and Saab for a few years, where the dials are SUPER simple, the Prius just seemed dangerous, due to having so many focus-points on the dash.

Perhaps the driver was looking in front of themselves for the speed, then looked down to adjust the heat on the steering wheel, but up to see if it registered on the display then got a phone call.. all in relative silence. Stupid dash design can't help the cause for the Prius.

Visiting the gas station much less often.
