UGOBE "shocked and appalled" by destruction of Pleo at Maker Faire {Engadget}

May 10th 2008 7:30PM The Ugobe engineers will be working day and night to bring us Pleo 2.0 - constructed from titanium alloy, and with more aggressive AI.

In "kill" mode, it uses its facial recognition software to recognize triangular shapes with two wheels and proceeds to unload several thousand rounds of whoop ass, followed by a stomping and then crushing by mechanical pincer of the target.

....

If only Ugobe thought as I do...

Apr 29th 2008 2:43PM Just before you write me off as an American muscle hater...

Was initially interested at the announcement of the Challenger/Camaro, but hell, they just don't do anything for me lately.

Apr 29th 2008 2:40PM That's exactly it.

They like to harp on about how everyone has a Camaro or Mustang in their past, American tradition, blah blah blah.

Except I don't, growing up broke-ass, driving crappy Corollas and CRXes before getting my Z. I still have decades of earning ahead of me, and they'll really need to work to get me to consider an American car.

I'll likely go from Japanese straight to European in the years to come.

Apr 29th 2008 1:39AM Seems like people are banging on the DCG transmission because its not as "pure" as manual shifting.

Fine, but I don't really care.

I'm of the "younger generation" and American automakers have nothing that interests me.

Have a TT 350Z now, will have a GT-R in a year or two!

Don't see that changing, and GM/Ford/Chrysler need to wake up.

Apr 26th 2008 5:48AM Right on! American muscle all the way! These GD riced out imports. Oh wait, wrong forum.

Just kidding though, I have an iPhone :P

Dutch cyclists lobbying for external airbags on cars {Engadget}

Apr 24th 2008 10:50PM Right on.

These goddamn cyclists cycling in the middle of the road at 10mph...

To paraphrase a friend, I drop a gear and rev my V8 as I drive past cyclists so they can hear I'm hurting the environment as I drive by and knock them back into the cycling lane with my 100% pure American steel tank.

Apr 24th 2008 10:46PM This is silly.

The intent of driving into the cyclist is to teach him/her to stay closer to the side of the road instead of sucking up valuable space where my car deserves to be.

Putting pillows on the car defeats this objective.

Dodge Challenger could start at $23,995 {Autoblog}

Apr 23rd 2008 3:36AM Man...2 years ago, the exchange rate was 2:1 in the US' favour, now its 1:1...and this car suddenly looks insanely cheap.

Hope they decide to expand their market outside of USDM.

9-year-old Mick Schumacher makes his race debut in Spain {Autoblog}

Apr 22nd 2008 5:30AM Eh, when you're set up for success like that, you might not have the hunger that your parents had.

Regardless, by the time that fella can legally drive he would probably outdrive 99% of us.
