The secret life of the Chevy Volt {Autoblog}
Jun 17th 2008 12:00PM I'd love to see your "facts" on when these were available for sale to the general public?
They weren't. The program died for a number of reasons but none were due to sales. Persons who leased those vehicles begged and pleaded to keep them post lease, GM (and the other auto companies) refused.
Rumormill? Infiniti G37 sedan coming in 2009 {Autoblog}
Jun 2nd 2008 1:12PM Keep in mind, the 3.7L is direct injection which currently gives higher horsepower AND higher MPG than the 3.5L. I'd imagine the 7 speed automatic will give even better MPG.
The 3.5L is wringing out 300hp but at the cost of decreased fuel econonmy from the previous generation.

Buyers dropping more coin on the 2008 Chevy Malibu {Autoblog}
Mar 31st 2008 8:27AM I'm in the demographic they are aiming for...2002 Maxima owner looking for a new car in the next few years.
With the exception of their trucks and sports cars, GM has never lit me on fire. My family had bad experience with GM cars in general (Citation, Citation Wagon, and even a Blazer). However, I also witnessed some good experiences (many good rental cars, 3.1L Lumina, Caprice, Caprice Classic).
I test drove a 4 cyl Malibu at an auto show event recently. At first, walking to the car, I was upset that they didn't have any V6s to drive. Walking away from the car after the test drive, I was thoroughly impressed (even passed a car, uphill on a two lane road). The car is solid, quiet and if the 4 cyl is any indication of how the 6 cyl is...powerful.
The one thing I hate on these American sedans is the soft-ball sized shifter with the large unlock button on the side.
That won't dissuade me from seriously replacing my Maxima with a Malibu when the time comes.
Why are factory navigation systems still so expensive? {Autoblog}
Feb 27th 2008 9:31AM I don't think this is a case of people not being able to read a map.
Why would I want to stop and read a map in a strange city at night? GPS keeps me moving.
Why would I want to stop on a highway (due to a pileup) and reroute myself? GPS can do this before I hit the pileup.
I have a Shell Gas Card. Why do I want to pull out a second set of maps to cross reference Shell gas stations (do they have a Shell Gas Station map?)? GPS tells me where my favorite restaurants and gas stations are enroute.
Navigation is a convenience. Your argument is analogous to asking "Why do people need an Ipod, can't they work a victrola?" :)
Cheap cars in India = expensive gas in the States {Autoblog}
Feb 5th 2008 7:56AM I can't help but agree. Most people my age and younger live by the phrase "live for today" and boy do they spend for today too. Cheap loans on cars and houses they can't afford. One little economical change ($2 gas going to $3 gas in 2005) and the bubble bursts.
The more this happens, the less people will be on the roads. I look forward to that. :)

Ford already thinking about more aerodynamic F-150 {Autoblog}
Jan 23rd 2008 8:53AM I really liked the design of the 1998 Ford Triton concept. The concept looked almost exactly like the 1997-1998 F-150. It was very futuristic looking (inside and out). Ford was not confident in the design and continued to sell the pre-1997 redesign side by side with the 1997 at the dealerships.
I owned a 1997 F-150 and it was a great truck, though I don't think the mileage was affected by the new aerodynamics. I was able to get only 17.5MPG (highway) with a 4X4 regular stepside cab (w and without hard top bed cover).
Acura TSX gets diesel power next year {Autoblog}
Jan 21st 2008 12:19PM I agree with what you wrote. I would just add that in FWD you have more of a "fight" during the correction because the wheels you steer with are the ones causing the torque steer. In a RWD, when you slide the front wheels aren't fighting you during the correction.
