Far right wing reportedly ready to boycott a newly federalized GM {Autoblog}
Jun 8th 2009 10:55AM Like the Focus on the Family boycott of Ford because they advertise in gay publication, this is another storm in a teacup. People buy the cars based on what they want and can afford and usually nothing else. That is why "Buy American" campaigns also don't work.
Anyway, why would a Corvette or a CTS be any worse now than it was two weeks ago?

Jun 4th 2009 4:15PM Does anybody know if they kept the engine block cast iron (as it is in the Rabbit) or if VAG could be bothered to keep the front weight down by casting it in Aluminum?

New roof-crush standards reported to cost automakers $1.4 billion annually {Autoblog}
May 4th 2009 6:59PM Kitko - so by your reasoning small light cars are the safest because there is less kinetic energy in the impact? You may want to review your physics books.
This is no big deal, automakers whine every time either safety or environmental standards are raised. If it were up to the automotive lobby we'd all still be driving cars of the 70s. If they put money towards a few pounds of aluminum to brace the roof instead of paying lobbyists then maybe they'd be in better shape now.

Review: 2009 Nissan Maxima, return of the four-door sports car? {Autoblog}
Apr 15th 2009 2:11PM Dealers are advertising the entry level 09 Maxima for 24K here in Florida. It's a nice car but it really needs a $5K haircut to its price tag before it becomes competitive.
First Drive: 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible, MI6's sultry secretary has a new ride {Autoblog}
Apr 10th 2009 1:30PM Its nice, but its also $50K+ with options. For that kind of money its not exactly a mid priced BMW alternative is it? Given the cliff face depreciation of the M34 and M45 I would be cautious about handing over fifty large for a convertible G.
New York: Acura ZDX aimed squarely at BMW X6 {Autoblog}
Apr 8th 2009 12:46PM It's ugly and it won't have much in the way of motivation if they use the NA 3.7 V6.
In my book that makes it more Pontiac Aztek than BMW X6.

Apr 4th 2009 7:15PM I guess if you're in the market for an obese sports car this may seem appealing - but appalling would be the word that I would choose.
