Air France in-flight calling tests begin: not so great {Engadget}

XBMC on OS X releases version .1 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Feb 5th 2008 7:14AM Why would anyone install this on their Mac?

Because a Mac Mini with XBMC running connected to your Plasma od LCD makes one hell of a media center. I'm still using XBMC on my old xbox because of it's awesome media support. Just about the only thing i miss is hardware support for 720p/1080i, and that's where the Mac gets into the picture. I'm psyched about this.

XBMC being ported to Leopard {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jan 4th 2008 11:52AM OMG this was the best news I've heard this year! (har-har)

I'm still running my old xbox with XBMC because I can't find a replacement that work as well. The software is fantastic, and with the XTV-skin (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?s=d1aa365c09a7f9eb10d26cb0e57122a7&showtopic=583541)
it looks lie front row but with better support for formats and with way better flexibility. However, I do miss the ability to play HD-clips on since the xbox is to weak. A pumped up Mac Mini with this thing running would be the bomb, and would totally kill AppleTV. A wonderful thought, let's just hope they get it to work.

What iPhone apps do you want to see? {Engadget}

Oct 17th 2007 12:55PM - Adium/iChat app
- VLC (or xvid support added to the native video player)
- Twitter app
- ToDo app
- Skype app

This new ability to add apps would also create a need to choose which apps to be present on the home screen. I for one would sure like to toss out the clock and stocks-widgets for say, an twitter- and an IM app.

Saab 9-5 Nordic Edition added to Euro range {Autoblog}

Sep 8th 2007 4:46PM Errr, actually, that swedish translation i shady, to say the least. The correct phrase you're looking for is more like "tyvärr".

iTV becomes Apple TV {Engadget}

Jan 10th 2007 7:41AM First, 720p is really all you need today, unless you're using a projector of some sort. In my humble opinion, you can't really tell the difference between 720p and 1080i on a regular sized (32-42 inch) screen. And I'm guessing that those are the kind of customers that Apple are focusing on with this. Regular people, not home cinema fanatics. And I'm also guessing putting in 1080p-support would make it cost to much for the end customer.

Now, with that said; can anyone verify wether or not TV can access AirPort Disks attached to the new Airport Extreme? And do you have to import movies into iTunes to make them show on the TV menus?
If they limit it so that you only can watch content bought on iTunes, they're seriously off to a bad start in sales. However, if it's possible to add say the xvic codecs available for quicktime into this, and stream series that you've downloaded, they'll sell like hotcakes, I predict.

Apple has 13.3-inch MacBooks on the way? {Engadget}

Apr 5th 2006 5:30AM I'd say there is a very large chance that we'll see a 13,3 wide MBP BEFORE the new iBook emerges. I base this assumption on the same way i predicted that the intel Powerbook would come before the intel iBook: Why release the consumer product before the pro product? They're still selling PB 12" to my knowledge, and NO ONE would buy one of those if this thing hit the market before a 13,3/12 inch MBP.

I don't think Apple will change the name from iBook to Macbook either. It's too easy to mix the two macbooks together. And since the iMac name prevailed the intel switch, there's the chance the iBook will to.
