Spy Shots: 2010 Ford Taurus... finally {Autoblog}

Apr 10th 2008 5:09PM I have to be honest… Although I really do like this car, it leaves me feeling a bit disappointed. The design is definitely provoctave (especially when compared to other vehicles in this class) but will not be out till 2010. Shortly thereafter the refreshed Mondeo will be out and US Autoblog aficionados will feel second to Europe again. I really hope this is not the case and the new Tarus provides a credible competitor to the Avalon.

As a side note, when Chevy throws their hat into the ring with what is sure to be yet another showstopper (the redesigned Impala), the domestics will yet again be the bane of Toyhondwagon’s existence.

Like they used to: Sport Speciale by The Creative Workshop {Autoblog}

Mar 18th 2008 9:02PM I kinda like it. I agree with a previous commenter in that the rear fender looks a bit "cartoonish" but I like the overall package. It would be a fun toy to have in the garage.

Buick to show Invicta concept next month in China {Autoblog}

Mar 18th 2008 3:32PM In my humble opinion this would be a great addition to the Buick line up. They need a truly compelling four door sedan. The Lucerne is a very capable automobile, but you will NEVER find one (in its current form) parked in my garage; the design is just far staid for my tastes. Something to compliment the well received Enclave would be GREAT for not only Buick, but also GM as a whole. Where Cadillac’s have a very sharp and angular look that tends to be a bit polarizing, Buicks can be the smoother, more curvaceous alternative. It is also nice to see Buick has resisted the annoying change to an alpha numeric nomenclature that seems to be infecting American luxury marquees.

New York '08 Preview: 2009 Nissan Maxima leaked on forum {Autoblog}

Mar 18th 2008 2:59PM I do believe the styling on the headlights is a textbook example of ‘different for the sake of being different’. It just comes across as if they are just trying too hard… in a word, desperate. That being said, I really like the interior. It seems as though Nissan has always been a bit drab when it came to their interior decorating and this appears to be a refreshing change from the status quo. I just really hope the less than stellar response they are sure to get from that silly front end will have the designers working overtime on a nose-job.

Lincoln revival includes production of MKT, killing Mark LT pickup {Autoblog}

Mar 17th 2008 3:55PM Despite the whale like grill and oddly sloping back end, I kinda like this concept. I really think it would fit nicely in the Lincoln lineup with some serious ‘look at me’ appeal. With that said, however, I feel the concept is plenty big enough and would think it a pity if extra length were added to accommodate the expected third row. In my non-car designer/non-engineer mind, I imagine a three row version of this looking rather overweight and awkward. It seems if consumers really needed and/or wanted a third row, they would be better advised to spring for the Navigator. I really hope I am wrong and this proves to be a homerun for Ford both in terms of styling and sales.

Geneva Leakage: Remaining 2009 VW Scirocco pics surface {Autoblog}

Mar 1st 2008 3:30PM If I understand correctly, VW is not going to sell this in the USDM as they do not want to steal sales from their existing product. It is sad as this is the only VW (with the exception of the new Passat CC) I would consider having in my driveway. This car's exterior has attitude, something the rest of their passenger car lineup is lacking (IMHO).

Detroit 2008: Autoblog picks the five most significant introductions {Autoblog}

Jan 15th 2008 10:45PM Although I may not agree with all the selections in this clip, I have to say I love the CTS coupe. I think its inclusion is very fitting and deserved. However, try as I may, I cannot understand the place Audi holds on the list. As previously mentioned it is a car few will actually buy and I question the effect it will actually have on the market.

Detroit 2008: Cadillac CTS Coupe Concept proves 2 doors is better than 4 {Autoblog}

Jan 14th 2008 8:15PM OH MY F***ING GOD... I am at a loss for words. Just so beautiful.

Detroit 2008: 2009 Hyundai Genesis revealed, Phil Collins would be proud {Autoblog}

Jan 13th 2008 5:20PM So when this has issues and I need to leave it at the dealer over night, does this mean I will have to drive a loaner Accent?

Detroit 2008: Ford Verve Sedan drops (literally) in D-town {Autoblog}

Jan 13th 2008 4:24PM I have to admit (albeit begrudgingly) I do kinda like the new Focus after seeing it in person; however, it is nothing compared to the Verve. When the Verve goes on sale here, provided it maintains the seductive styling of the concept, it will absolutely cannibalize not only Focus sales but also the sales of numerous competitors, namely the Cobalt, Civic, Corolla, etc.
