New Peugeot 308 to offer diesel hybrid powertrain {Autoblog Green}

Mar 23rd 2007 10:58AM 1. Peugeot does not sell cars in the US. If they did they would sell like hotcakes at any price.

2. In the UK (their primary market) they won't be able to produce enough of these at any price. The city car tax is increasing and this should be exempt.

3. I want one now.

Would a gas tax be more effective than raising CAFE standards? {Autoblog Green}

Mar 8th 2007 12:52PM Many comments how raising taxes will "affect the poor". Stop the blah blah and find solutions. Buses won't pay the tax, or the tax will go to alternative transportation, such as buses...
Win Win. People buy smaller cars and the trasportation system is improved. Yay.

Tought love, but I like.

Geneva Auto Show: Toyota Hybrid X concept is the uber-Prius {Autoblog}

Ugly, impractical, nerdy......
1. Chip you glass and see if you still like it.

3. No pic of opening the hood or trunk? Can you?
4. Four seater??????
Give us the technology, Give us MPG and LEAVE THE FRENCH OUT OF IT.

Toyota workers in Kentucky plant made more than UAW members last year {Autoblog}

Jan 31st 2007 6:32PM Domestic companies are failing because they did not finance the retirement of current employees, much like social security, they adopted a pay-as-you-go approach.

This should never be allowed.

Detroit Auto Show: Bread & Butter - The Chrysler Group's Minivan Unveiling {Autoblog}

Jan 8th 2007 10:49AM No fuel economy info. Real world my GC get 12 city and 25 hwy. It drives like a caddy.

I like some of the inovations. Child veiw mirror in the overhead compartment. Too much power stuff, just means more time in the shop. NOW LOOKS LIKE A SPECIALTYY MODEL NOT THE MEAT AND POTATOES IT USED TO BE. If it is overpriced for the segment (coming in close to the Siena and Honda) I am afraid Hyundai/Kia will take over the buld of the segment.

The dam has broken: more DCX minivan pics appear on web {Autoblog}

Jan 4th 2007 10:49AM I am on my second Caravan, PLEASE DON'T CHANGE IT. I don't want to look like I am driving a SUV. Six spead auto sounds good, put in a mild hybrid system and I would trade in my 2005. Otherwise I'll wait a few more years.

Prius converted to plug-in hybrid getting 80 to 100 mpg {Autoblog Green}

Nov 20th 2006 11:40AM Amen on the Grand Caravan.
How about a Two-Mode Hybrid Grand Caravan. I have a 2005 and love it, but would trade in for a hybrid.

Boxer asks Californians to vote yes on Prop 87 {Autoblog Green}

Oct 11th 2006 11:47AM I just went to YesOn87.com and couldn't find the text of the actual proposition. Anytime they hide the actual text makes me suspitios. How can you raise the cost of production and lower your dependence? How will wind offset oil? We don't use oil to generate electricity!!! Tax gasoline not oil production!!!

Every buisiness is out to make money. The price of a product is related to its expense. You can't tell oil producers "you can't charge what it costs you". Just like you can't get insurace companies to pay out more claims without premiums going up. It really is that simple.

Can someone point me to the actual prop87?

This sounds like one of those "We are going to raise the budget for schools without raising taxes" or "We are going to increase pensions for municipal workers without raising taxes" remember those!! They are selling bonds wich have to be paid back later. You are raising taxes!!! Liars.

This may be a good idea, but I think it needs a little more transparency. Tax gasoline!!! Straight up.

GMC to add minivan by 2009 {Autoblog}

Aug 29th 2006 10:48AM As a family with children a minivan is a must. There is no way of getting 5 kids into a sedan or CUV. The only other alternative is a monstrous SUV.

Herein lies their mistake "and more powerful engines". People that have a minivan are looking to move kids from place to place, not race down the highway. And most of the mileage is local so no need.

Most of the minivan are designed around this idea, and are nicely done, Chrysler, Honda, kia (yes) and Toyota are nicely done. The only thing missing is a minivan with good gas mileage going locally (my caravan gets actual 25mpg on the hwy).

If they put out a hybrid that is under 28k for the base model, they will have the market cornered.

Remember, the minivan is not going away, it is not a luxury but a necessity.

Electric Vehicles in Depth, Part II: NmG, An EV for the Rest of Us {Autoblog Green}

Jun 16th 2006 11:32AM Utility rates are now closer to 0.16 and are increasing at least 10% a year.

I drive close to 17mi to work, but have nowhere to recharge. I wouldn't feel comfortable with a vehicle that got less that 50mi range (thats with AC).

No AC no deal.

Keep the work up.
