BMW torched in Germany in protest of high gas prices {Autoblog Green}

Jun 29th 2008 1:58AM And if they had a weaker currency, it'd be $12/gal. Of course, even if the dollar continues to drop, oil prices will probably rise still faster. So when we hurt under $7/gal, they'll be twice that...

U.S. mayors call for oil sands boycott {Autoblog Green}

Jun 27th 2008 7:28PM I'm in favor of "Do Everything", including renewables and more oil drilling.

A "sizable number" of Americans think gas will hit $5/gallon by Labor Day {Autoblog Green}

Jun 25th 2008 8:07PM Will you laugh when $10 gas costs you your job? Will you laugh when the inflation triples the cost of food? Will you laugh when people in the northeast freeze when they can't afford heating oil?

I guess watching people suffer is funny.

Jun 22nd 2008 10:34PM I recall a graph that showed that after the energy crisis of the late 70s, CAFE standards, and the general economic conditions of the early 80s, gasoline consumption dropped precipitously and did not rise to those levels again until the mid-90s.

China raises fuel prices by 16.7 percent {Autoblog Green}

Jun 20th 2008 1:37PM And here I thought that subsidizing gasoline was a bad thing because we should pay the full cost of the environmental damage. I guess it's okay when China does it.

British fuel demand down 20% due to high prices {Autoblog Green}

Jun 12th 2008 9:27PM According to Mastercard we're down about 5% or so. Overall by 1.3% over last year, the EIA says. With the lifting of a lot of the fuel subsidies in Asia, demand will get hit there, too. If China would do the same we might finally get a break on these oil prices.
