Ford holds Taurus SHO focus group in Chicago... what does it mean??? {Autoblog}

May 7th 2008 4:21PM 350hp / 350ft/lbs

the 400+hp versions of the 3.5l v6 EB are reserved for RWD applicaitons - Ford does not have the transmissions to handle such power (and the D3 platform has problems handling such power as well)

the EcoBoost Taurus is all but confirmed .... the only question remains:

SHO Taurus
or
SVT Taurus

2009 Ford Fusion to get more power, six-speed 'box {Autoblog}

Apr 21st 2008 10:11AM Detnews go their model years mixed up - the Fusion will get a redesign (and new engines) for the 2010 model year - not 2009 - 2009 is a carryover model year.

Next Ford Focus will be a "global project", C1 platform coming Stateside {Autoblog}

Apr 14th 2008 5:03PM correct-

although it seems Ford's own designations are not adding the +1 to the platform name.

The platform will be redesigned but it is still referred to as C1.

This is in line with Ford's new Top-hat and platform redesign schedule - all new platform is developed only every OTHER generation. In the middle, the platform just gets redesign/face lift/improvements (think Honda).

Head-scratcher of the Day: the Hitch Safe {Autoblog}

Apr 11th 2008 11:12AM well Ford has all of your backs - the "outdated" keypad takes care of all this trouble as you can lock and unlock your car and leave the keys hidden inside.

I never realized this potential until going to a beach with a friend - it was great - I locked my keys in his car too - for good measure - my Mazda does not have a keypad like that .

Crown Vic prepares to give up its scepter {Autoblog}

Nov 1st 2007 9:15AM welcome to 5 months ago ..

the 08 Crown Vic is fleet only and was removed from the fordvehicles.com at the beginning of the summer.

GM and TC will continue to be offered through retail for a couple more years. CV and TC will definitely continue to be produced at least for fleets until the new RWD sedans come online between 2010 and 2012.
