Jul 14th 2008 9:40AM "Toyota would have a convertible, but not Lexus? Seems out of balance to me."

no... what is out of balance is how it was currently. with Infiniti *lacking* a convertible and Lexus *having* a convertible. everyone knows "Lexus don't make a convertible."

with the rumored Infiniti G37 convertible... order will be FINALLY be restored.

i'm sure you think that is a stunningly brilliant observation. but that is the 2002 and newer Buick logo that is being used.

give me some links to a 2002 or newer GSX / GNX ... or even this imaginary "Grand Nation" you mention.

Jun 13th 2008 1:25PM i'm curious what specific benefits you get for the extra $15 on the "Enterprise Data Plan".

$45 a month vs. $30 a month is a pretty big jump... and besides using words like "corporate" and "intranet" ... i have yet to see a specific tangible benefit to the "Enterprise Data Plan".

like specifically what do i *not* get to do with the $30 plan that i magically *can* do with the $45 plan?

Jun 9th 2008 7:37AM "Actually you're very wrong."

read what he said again. very slowly. 15000k+ a year... get it yet? i'll help you out.

15,000*k*... as in 15,000,000 miles a year. you'd have to drive to the moon and back a good 30 times to rack up that many miles.

so please explain to me how he is "very wrong". thanks!

May 29th 2008 6:05AM "And to the geniuses pointing out that you can keep the car forever, I'd point out that most buyers of new luxury cars swap the cars out after a few years, and that even if you planned on driving it forever it'd make more sense to buy it after 1-2 years."

i'm sure you have a link to cite the statistics presented? thanks.

if you are buying a car based on what it will depreciate to in a few years you have no business buying a car in the first place.

either the car was worth the amount you paid when you decided to purchase it or it wasn't. speculating on future value of your "investment" means you really have absolutely completely no business making that purchase to begin with.

there are NO other depreciable goods that i would do this for... i don't know why cars should be the special exception. when i buy a computer or any random piece of consumer electronics i never once calculate in what the used selling price in a few months or years might be. i look at the price it is at the time of purchase... and decide if that is a price i am willing to pay in order to own that thing. if not... i don't buy it. i don't purchase something else costing 20% more because it *might* be worth more used in a few years. defending that practice means you should not be purchasing *anything*... but i bet banks and lenders *love* you.

having more car than you can legitimately afford is a good reason to look into leasing. especially if you are fickle enough to need to swap cars every 2-3 years anyway.

i'll say it once more to make it really clear: if you take into consideration depreciated value when purchasing a car you should not be buying a car period. you are poor with finances.

VIA OpenBook hands-on {Engadget}

May 27th 2008 9:48AM something with a VIA C7-based subnote is really being compared to a MacBook Air? really?

you can keep your chiclet keyboard and card reader (how many card formats do people use on a daily basis?)... i'll keep my Core 2 Duo and normal size keyboard.

WiMax is nice i guess... though where would one even find WiMax to use? hardly ubiquitous at this point.

basically... the two machines aren't even in the same class. nice baiting though. worked on me.

Apr 30th 2008 4:25PM "That would be Mark IX. VIIII is not a roman numeral."

if you are going to be pedantic... you would know that in the truest sense of the term... VIIII was more likely a *Roman* numeral than IX.

"Perhaps the biggest difference between modern and Roman Roman numerals is that the Romans rarely used the subtraction principle. Nine was much more likely to be VIIII than IX."

but yeah. modern westernized "Roman" numerals... IX is considered 9.
