Lamborghini offers Versace edition LP640 Roadster {Autoblog}
Jun 24th 2008 11:43AM I am so with you on this. Clarkson was talking about how only morons buy things like Ferrari colonge and so on in the latest Top Gear...this is worse. Eddie Bauer Forresters, O.K. Harley Edition Pickups, O.K. (whatever, aren't Harleys bikes...), even Tap Out Tundras, but this. Wow, how totally stupid, what an embarassment. I hope Autoblog keeps up posted on who buys them. Can you imagine taking this to a track-day...hahaha...

Jun 17th 2008 10:42AM I feel you, reminds me of the dockworkers on the West Coast. My friend's wife's father use to be an English teacher. Took a test and entered a raffle (what happened to supply and demand?) and became a dockworker near Long Beach. Now he makes $150,000 a year for a job that didn't require any college degree and has all kinds of insurance benefits and other perks. Who wins, him and other dockworkers. Who loses every single consumer that has to pay that little bit more on every good because they monopolized the dock labor. There was another story in the paper about a guy who went from $40,000 a year driving a bus to $75,000 a year working "part-time" as a dockworker: wow...guess we all here blew it...oh wait, it's not hard work and college that gets you those jobs, it's connections and luck.

Jun 16th 2008 5:52PM I teach econonmics and I so agree with you on this one. Unions are not that important in competitive job markets where labor has chances to move and move up Quick funny story:
I went to go watch the clerical workers for our city government here in Ventura County hold a union rally asking for a "living wage" whatever that means ;) I walked among them and talked to them (just asking questions) and one lady complained that they need a "living wage" because "all there best people keep leaving." Hahaha. Yes, and all the best people from McDonalds leave and when my former girlfriend quit being a cashier at Barnes and Noble to become a teacher her manager told her "all the best people leave" too. Of course, ambitious, smart, can-do people will not settle with those jobs and to create an environment where they do is to rob America and us all of so very much productivity. If truck drivers want more money go to college and become an engineer or something, just like my students do when they quit McDonalds. Anyway, you hit a little nerve with me, obviously. Poor drivers who lost their jobs.
Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG Black Edition spotted on the 'Ring {Autoblog}
May 24th 2008 10:40AM I think this may beat the GT-R, but it's not just the GT-R's ring time, it's a combo of it's ring time and it's avalibility AND price that is amazing. Mercedes said they are only planning about 350 of these to be made...and how much will they cost!!!??? GT-R...after enough are made...should start to lose some mark-ups and get closer to MSRP, which is an amazing $75,000 or so. This is a neat car...really neat, but it's just not the same AMAZING combo of factors that the GT-R is.
And you thought $79,995 was crazy...GT500KR for sale on ebay for $154,991.00 {Autoblog}
May 4th 2008 3:28PM I would so rather have a Ford GT...I mean it's a real supercar. But like so many of us...there are so many cars I would rather have for performance, looks, etc... What about you guys...there must be a lot.

May 2nd 2008 1:36AM Wow, I normally scoff (as so many of us here do, although not all) at all the different mustangs (although mostly the different versions of the new ones of course). But this, wow,...I really like I think every thing about it and normally I can find something I don't like. Good looking, classic but modern, but not cheesy futuristic. I like the interior and the speakers and the back end with the diffuser and the underbody exhaust. Really nice. Again, wow.

Mar 1st 2008 1:57PM I would like to buy this car. I would like to buy an M3 too...or maybe an AMG63BLACK, but I won't buy those. I WOULD buy this if they made is and kept the price around 40,000 or so. I LOVE my WRX STi, but this is awesome! Please send it here with a manuel and I will buy it...as long as the steering rack and suspension are what they should be!

Ferrari SUV reportedly has codename F151, concept coming in 2010 {Autoblog}
Jan 8th 2008 1:35AM What's really going to ruin this also is the people who end up buying them... Already this will pull them down, but imagine what kind of people will be buying these...not people you want to think of as Ferrari buyers likely...
Sad.

Jan 2nd 2008 12:38PM I am an economics teacher, and it's good to see that there are people out there with good econ sense! Where the natural resources come from, the capital (both finacial and cost of equipment) and so on and so on... The whole made in America thing is so silly in our global economy to some extent and even more so if currency is allowed to float. We buy things in dollars, dollars come back...big circle. However, I too am concerned with American engineering jobs and technical jobs being lost to gaining economies in India, Ireland, China, etc... and that in time (quite some time) we could end not being able to cause the brain-drain that we currently do by taking many of their best who come here for a better standard of living (as their areas improve) and it will be more obvious how far we've fallen behind in our own technical schooling in a new world where we now will not be able to compete on the world stage...of course this will take some time...
