Totally agree with MJK that cheap looking Hasbro looking wheels and a adding a front lip and imitation rear diffuser bring this already average design into the negative numbers on the rating scale. All this car needed was the headlamps and grill of the concept car (something that could have easily been done).

Apr 17th 2008 11:47AM can`t wait to see this car...if it ever comes. Honda keeps promising and under delivering. The NSX will have a tough time to compete with the GT-R. Will this NSX have better performance than the GT-R and at what price? The RL is a luxury car joke. The TSX is from the Honda Brand. Only the TL manages to distinguish its itself as a nice design with Acura flavor...but with an Honda Accord platform!. What the hell is taking Honda so LONG to bring us a true luxury line up for Acura!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who is running the show over there. Does anyone have a clue?

EVERY young business professional wants a BMW or Mercedes...they just can`t afford it. Flashy has nothing to do with it.
Once again Honda produces a nicer Honda and they call it an Acura.

Mar 19th 2008 5:26PM As a car designer, I can tell you it is NOT a problem with the designers creating UGLY cars...it is the management that chooses and pushes for these new ugly directions. All car companies have great designers with passionate visions, its the management that leads the way. And with Honda, looking at their past record of designs, there management clearly has NO idea what they are doing designwise. They simply sell cars based on their quality, reliability, and value propositions. Remember Honda is an engineering company...not a style oriented company. Audi or BMW have brands which focus on emotional design. Honda builds the US Accord which looks like a computer built it by mixes all the latest cars into one package. Disgusting.

Feb 20th 2008 11:54AM To Mr. John Neff, design (styling) is subjective BUT how can you say that Volvo has finally `shaving out all the rough edges of the past 15 years of Volvo design. This is a joke! right? The original S80 was fantastic! Clean, modern, unique, and created a strong identity for future Volvos.
This latest Volvo abortion has so few new styling ideas. I see almost nothing new or original about the character line under the rounded schoulder of the car. It just makes the shoulder busy looking. And the front of the vehicle is a
compete disaster. What shape is that grill? Are they trying to copy the new 6 sided Honda grills? The lower front bumper air intake has been ripped off countless new cars (mercedes E class, new VWs, BMW, and many others).
The headlights are not a distinctive shape and there is no need for the busy mini headlight between the grill and main headlight.
I used to be able to understand the clean surface language of Volvo cars, but this is a mess. Many sharp edges like on the front bottom air intake design don`t match the smooth rounded shoulder.
Is this car trying to be Japanese rather than Swedish...look at the fog like air opening shape and design.
I had thought Swedish design was supposed to be more elegant and minimalistic than this latest offering. If anyone else tends to agree or disagree with me about this latest Volvo...let me know;)
Acura NSX replacement still delayed due to design issues {Autoblog}
Jan 22nd 2008 10:52AM HAHA ha, it seems so apparent to me that all you Honda / Acura lovers have no idea how bad Honda/Acura design really is. All the automotive companies have great designers including Acura and Honda BUT, the Honda management is a disaster. So many times the Honda President Takeo Fukui has overstepped his bounds saying the NSX is coming, and well it hasn`t. Honda decided long ago that they needed a V10 to match the image of Formula 1 and competitors like BMW M5 and Lexus LFA and now F1 cars use V8. The Market is changing faster than the SLOW Honda management can think!! The future is in high performance environmentally friendly powertrains. Maybe they are working to make their diesel a V10.
But back to design, just look at all of Honda`s failures like the Acura RL... a total disaster which just weakens the brand. The new Pilot is not following the trend and looks like a bad Explorer (although the original one had generic design) CRZ is look to predictable. The new Accord is a rip-off of German design cues (BMW hofmeister kink window treatment).
Yes I am sure the Acura brand will somehow come alive in the next 6 or 7 years....but rest of the car companies may have blown by them by then.
What do you all think. Agree??
Fisker already updating exclusive Latigo CS {Autoblog}
Aug 10th 2007 12:31AM I am SHOCKED by this disaster of a facelift. Is this a Fast and the Furious car??? The front looks like an ugly fish. Shouldn`t Mr. Fisker know that beautiful designs DON`t need facelifts, ever. Great designs are timeless and he should have left his original car alone. If he wanted this face on the original car he design, he would have done it the first time around. Basically the Latigo design looks like a an over grown ugly 3 series coupe. Get an M3 Coupe and keep the change (even if you can afford the Latigo coach built car).

Jul 23rd 2007 12:59AM This new NSX is a joke! Honda is a joke. They have no idea what the Acura brand is! The NSX will come so late to the party, it can`t possibly compete with the other brands for performance, price, and STATUS. What will this light weight, gt, super car with a V10 cost? Unless it is going to be less then an Audi RS8, it is going to have trouble with competitors like the 911 Turbo, Audi RS8, LEXUS LFA, Maseratis, Ferraris, Galardos, and even the future high performance Corvettes. These cars all have extremely strong brands, prestige, and status. Acura is nothing. They have a TSX, TL, and the fantastic (joking) RL sedan. The RL has always been a failure! All of which are almost the same dimensions and have zero family resemblance. Except the TL`s design which is fresh (designed in California), the others could be Mazda`s.
I love how the Honda president keeps telling us the NSX or HSC are (or were) coming. And then a year later, they cancel or seriously postpone it. It is clear to me that the Honda organization doesn`t have a clue about the Acura brand or how to build a successful luxury brand.
