Sep 20th 2007 1:28PM If I'm not mistaken, Wal-Mart owns Sam's Club and Sam's Club sells vehicles at discounts ... so Wal-Mart is technically already selling vehicles.
NHTSA inks agreement with China on auto safety {Autoblog}
Sep 20th 2007 12:00AM And so it begins ...
Globalization brings a new competitor that now must be taken seriously. A minimum level of recognized safety, which was all that kept these cars from truly taking over at some point, and the lowest price amongst all.
The death knell for the status quo has been rung. Remember this day for the rest of your lives.

Sep 13th 2007 2:13PM Stoneman, your ilk will lessen in number ... money (wealth or lack of it) is a powerful force, and the less you have to pay, the easier the pain of assimilating.

Sep 13th 2007 1:25PM I have read the same ... a year from now (don't know if I can wait that long). I was debating going your route but don't see the value in paying a couple grand for the performance specs, replacing parts, and not getting enough increase from the base 'S'. And I NEED the body kit ... love the front bumper ... but there's NO way I'm paying another couple grand to replace parts that should not have been sold (only to be replaced by newly paid for parts).
This double charging business is BULLSHIT ... and no, I don't want to sell the originals on EBay only to try and recoup money I gave to BMW for something I never really wnated.

Sep 13th 2007 1:00PM It's only a matter of time. The Chinese will adapt and build vehicles capable of meeting all crash testing standards ... then their value will launch them into higher sales number echelons.
It's unavoidable no matter the present hatred.

Sep 12th 2007 2:12PM That's what I understand and that's why I'm declining this car and waiting for the factory JCW (it can't come soon enough). I'm disappointed I cannot buy the JCW now from the factory but have to buy an S with skirts and bumpers that come standard and then have to pay to replace those originals with another set costing some $2k more.
Give me at least 210 hp and a body kit from the factory and save me the time and money of having to replace parts that were never desired in the first place ... what a retarded waste of time, money and resources.

Sep 12th 2007 12:38PM No thanks. Just produce the JCW edition from FACTORY (not add-on at dealership) and I'm in. I won't be racing.

Sep 11th 2007 11:16PM I pretty much agree with everything posted above me ... and I bet Ford thinks the same way ... it's just that they have to let things deteriorate as much as they can so that the renaissance looks better than it really will be.
This is all orchestrated to put the company into a position of imminent failure in North America, only to have the company re-emerge stronger than before. It's obvious Ford can do better ... for now, they CHOOSE not to.
