Spy Shots: Lotus "Eagle" {Autoblog}
Nov 9th 2007 1:08PM Who is more clever than Lotus? Hrrmmm...that's too easy.
Granted, Lotus makes some nice hardware, but I would hate to see what the legroom is going to be like in a 2+2.

$4.5 million awarded in Porsche Carrera GT case {Autoblog}
Oct 24th 2007 12:59PM By going on a race track in a high performance car you always accept the risks of being seriously injured or killed. Period.
The passenger was voluntarily aboard the vehicle and knew (or should have known) the risks involved. I doubt that he was telling the driver to slow down. You can never know the level of skill a driver has unless you are in the car with that person.
Also, I can't see how Porsche can be held negligent in a case like this. They build a car that goes like stink. That is it's sole purpose. The people that buy them do not expect to be able to survive a 100MPH+ crash, and if they do I suggest they wake up.
Jacques Villeneuve wrecks truck; qualifies 6th for today's 'Dega race {Autoblog}
Oct 7th 2007 12:45PM When that same 4 time champion has probably been in more major crashes than the person he is talking about, then I will take his opinions into consideration.
Jacques Villeneuve wrecks truck; qualifies 6th for today's 'Dega race {Autoblog}
Oct 7th 2007 12:42PM Congrats to Jacques for qualifying 6th. He has a lot of talent and deserves a lot more respect than a lot of NASCAR fans are giving him.
If the tables were reversed and a NASCAR driver went to Formula 1 or CART late in the season, all the NASCAR fans would be elated that one of their own is proving him or herself in another series. NASCAR fans are so protectionist of their sport. It makes no sense.
Jacques has won the Indy 500, a CART World Championship, and a Formula 1 World Championship. What makes him less qualified to run at Talledega then a kid that worked him way up though the dirt tracks and short tracks of the American south?
Because Jacques is an outsider. That is the only reason why NASCAR fans are saying this and that about Jacques not having 'enough experience' to run in a race during the chase. If it was that big of an issue then NASCAR would make a rule of some sort that no new drivers are allowed in during the chase. Simple as that.
Tokyo 2007 Preview: Suzuki X-HEAD {Autoblog}
Sep 30th 2007 7:22AM It's the spirited succession to the MightyBoy!
Though, if it was about the size of a TopKick then they could steal all the GMC drivetrain and just pop it in. Maybe Suzuki could get into the heavy commercial vehicles market in Japan with it.

Under the hood of the Nissan GT-R: Engine details revealed {Autoblog}
Sep 11th 2007 6:19PM Z06 = NA 7.0L V8
GT-R = TT 3.5L V6
Now, assuming you aren't driving 100 mph through city traffic everyday, I am willing to bet that the GT-R would get better MPG than the Z06. I bet it would even do better than the regular Corvette.
The all-wheel drivetrain in the GT-R is not going to be like that of a normal 4x4 SUV or diesel pickup. The components will be lighter weight, though strong, thus causing less drivetrain power loss. The less weight you have in rotational mass the better MPG you are going to get.

Sep 11th 2007 1:36PM Yes, people cross-shop high performance vehicles. But, you aren't going to see someone cross-shop a 350Z with the new Dodge Challenger.
And you illustrated my point perfectly...
"if this thing drove better (i dont believe it will) then i would get it."
In your eyes, the Corvette would drive better than the GT-R because you are looking for something with brute force power. The GT-R is not going to be that car. It never will be that car. Sure, the are both 'high-performance' vehicles, but they are in completely different classes.
I know my bias is toward the GT-R and similar type vehicles. I like technological wonders like the Lancer Evo with its INSANE drivetrain and all the electronics. I would never buy a Corvette just because ... honestly ... I don't like them. They are a great looking car with tons of power, but I don't want that much of a carbon footprint (it sucks being somewhat environmentally conscious and loving fast cars).
