2009 Ford F-150 keeps max towing crown, adds fuel-efficient SFE model {Autoblog}

Sep 18th 2008 10:06PM Thats inaccurate. The Explorer's 210HP 4.0L V6 will run 0-60 in about 9 seconds. The 292HP V8 coupled with the 6-speed would run no slower than high 7s 0-60. I've seen 7 seconds as well, stock.

Toyota announces new 2.7L four-cylinder for Highlander {Autoblog}

Aug 15th 2008 4:14PM I would have to imagine this is an improvement total package-wise over the first gen Highlander with the 4-cylinder option. I own one, 2.4 L 155 HP. It's fine for around town driving, loaded up on trips it gets taxed though. The worst part is that it is quite loud and unrefined in normal driving. The mileage isn't bad though, about 23-24 in very mixed driving, 26-27 on the highway. The only caveat with the new 'Lander is that it weighs a lot more, and I don't think a 4 cylinder would be up to the task, even with 187 HP. The torque just won't be there.

Anyway, GMs DI Ecotecs will have more power, and be better on gas.

Chrysler considering four-day work week at Toledo Jeep plant {Autoblog}

Aug 7th 2008 10:53PM The least Chrysler could do would be to pair the 4.0L V6 with the new 6 speed auto, that should at least improve performance and probably help economy by about 1 or 2 mpg. A worthwhile investment, why haven't they done it already? Doesn't it fit?
