Apr 3rd 2008 2:27PM One of the reasons you run Nitrogen in a racecar's tires is fires. In the event of a fire, when the fire reaches the oxygen filled tires the tires explode and the fire is fueled with fresh air from inside.

Nitrogen doesn't do that.

Mar 31st 2008 10:43PM @#2- Number 3 got the big points, its also that many of the parts are one-off. Each one being designed and fabricated only once. This means parts are machined instead of cast, and a person makes it instead of a robot. That's one reason why mass production brings cost down.
