Cadillac Provoq concept evolves into 2010 SRX {Autoblog}

Aug 15th 2008 10:50AM Doesn't appeal to me much.

Despite being smaller and styled with so many busy elements, it manages to come across as bulky and boring - not in a Euro strength/timeless way either.

Bring on the 9-4X.

Monterey 2008: Cadillac unveils 2010 CTS Sport Wagon {Autoblog}

Aug 15th 2008 10:39AM I think this is rather questionable, and I'm a wagon person! Granted I can't picture an ideal way to turn the sedan into a wagon.

Think it would have turned out better if they didn't use the samerear side doors as the sedan, which could have allowed the sidewindows to stretch back a tad further or something.

All told, would much prefer that gorgeous Opel Insignia Wagon posted yesterday.

Insignia Sports Tourer wagon revealed before Paris Motor Show {Autoblog}

Aug 14th 2008 11:59AM Wow, that's gorgeous!

With an efficient powertrain as a Saturn would lead me to forgive GM for not offering the G8 Wagon here.

Jetta TDI = hotcakes, Tiguan, not so much {Autoblog}

Jul 27th 2008 6:51PM P-PS, I understand the Tiguan is selling well in other countries and that VW makes more profit from those other regions, however the brand is not positioning themselves well in this market for the future. Tiguan is priced high enough and with rich enough content that VW should be able to bring the TDI in at a price point that shouldn't mean a loss on the sale but does in effect restrict sales to allow volume elsewhere where you do make more profit, at the same time satisfying customers willing to pay for the technology here - perhaps new ones, and positioning for future growth once another NA plant is established.

Jetta TDI = hotcakes, Tiguan, not so much {Autoblog}

Jul 27th 2008 6:46PM VW Informant, I'd like to know what information those decision makers relied on when they decided not to offer the Tiguan TDI in North America?

I've had an '01 Golf TDI and '07 GTI and want to go back to diesel but in a higher roofed package (like the Golf Plus or Benz B-Class offered here in Canada). The Tiguan fits the bill (as does the new Subaru Forester) and I've driven one and really like it (despite not 6MT with 4MO), but don't really want the 2.0T again and the mileage with the 4MOTION is pretty diappointing coming out of my previous vehicles. I have been waiting for the flippin' Tiguan TDI and wishing it'll be offered within the next year but losing faith... not enough head room in the Jetta SportWagen with roof tho would have otherwise considerd that, really want the modern higher roof concept.

I can't believe VWoA/VWAG continually misjudge the market like this?

PS, not looking forward to the Routan tho you need a more affordable spacious vehicle or Americanized VWs either :P

Thanks!

Saturn drops Green Line name from hybrids {Autoblog}

Jun 15th 2008 2:30PM That's too bad... I thought the 'Green Line' was a really cool naming concept, complete with the little badge.

They just don't see through things like this well.

Chicago 2008 preview: Volkswagen Routan leaks out {Autoblog}

Feb 5th 2008 3:53PM Maintain this isn't the right product for Volkswagen, but was honestly expecting worse. Long reach down for some of those centre stack controls, but otherwise fairly attractive (with hint 'o Passat) interior compared to the Grand Caravan - mind you, priced more like a T&C I'm sure.

Anyone know whether or not it has Stow 'n Go? Lacking it would be a kiss of death.

Hyundai Genesis gets new grille just for Detroit, what gives? {Autoblog}

Jan 18th 2008 2:35PM Looks like a cheap knockoff without the badge.

Sorry Holden: GM cancels VE Sportwagon for US market {Autoblog}

Jan 17th 2008 11:32AM This is GORGEOUS compared to the rather hideous Magnum.

It's a shame, really. Was really looking forward to this product. Hope GM reconsiders (perhaps so if G8 sedan takes off)...

Geneva Preview: 2008 Skoda Superb {Autoblog}

Jan 10th 2008 9:53AM This is a car VW needs in America.

The slightly longer overhangs create the illusion of a larger car (and trunk), but don't look quite as awkward as Passat. I think the bodywork is quite striking.

Can see by how the roofline stretches over the rear occupant's heads that there is exceptional headroom, and the stretched wheelbase means leg room wouldn't be at a premium either. If Americans love one thing, it's room.

Also, the hatch is unique but like the Mazda6 Sport it doesn't look like a 5 door which is key (even if it does hurt versatility).

Best of all, for a Euro largish sedan, pricing won't be over the top.

Really, IMO it's ideal. Something the Passat CC is not.
