The whole Lambda program was pushed back as GM sped up work on the GMT900's. They believed the Lambda's would steal sales from the (then) super profitable trucks. In fact, the Lambda program was reduced considerably. Remember the plan to have brand new minivans?
Now, with gas prices what they are, it may be Lambda to the rescue!
How nice would a 2-mode Hybrid V8 Acadia be?

May 9th 2008 12:11PM The Lambda platform was designed as a possible augmented replacement for the full size SUV's from the outset. They can fit V8's (and the Buick was to get one).
If worse comes to worse, a beefed up Acadia and Traverse could do the task of a Yukon and Tahoe respectively.

Its a good idea, but only for the short term.
Go ahead, buy that gas guzzler. You can save on fuel for 3 years. After 3 years, your gas guzzler is a paperwight.
