Apple to lower prices of UK iTunes {Engadget}

Jan 9th 2008 12:41PM I am not suprised that the recording industry charge more in the UK. Pandora recently had to cut off it's UK users due to unfair licensing prices.

Officially Official: Ford picks Tata as preferred bidder for Jaguar/Land Rover {Autoblog}

Jan 3rd 2008 1:00PM I really do not think this will be the case. Having experienced one of the Tata companies in action, I know that their investment in Jaguar and Land Rover can only be good news.

At the moment, Range Rover is still relevant as it is the only one of the two companies that actually makes a profit thanks to footballers, celebrities and idiots like Jordan driving one.

As for the XF, Jaguar already has 3000 pre-orders for the car. How many of these become firm orders (i.e. through to delivery) is anyone's guess. IMHO, I can see the XF doing well, at least for the first couple of years.

In an ideal world, Tata would use Fiat's example (with the 500) and share the platform so they can make money on it. The Fiat 500 is one of the first cars in the world to be profitable even before it has been released.

Spy Shots: 2009 Chevy Camaro caught - interior too! {Autoblog}

Jan 3rd 2008 11:45AM I think ghastly is a better way to describe that interior. Why can't they adopt a more minimalist approach to interior design?

RHD HUMMER H3 arrives in UK, don't open until Christmas {Autoblog}

Oct 1st 2007 12:46PM Around London, the number of SUVs on the roads are on the decline. The car registration fees linked to CO2 emissions, talk of a £25 congestion charge and fuel costs hitting over a pound, for quite a few people it's becoming unsustainable to keep driving around in cars that do 8mpg (SUV or not). Having said that, there is still a market for the H3, namely the limo companies (who end up stretching them) and the wannabe celebrities

Spy Shots: BMW 3-Series sedan facelift {Autoblog}

Aug 31st 2007 2:49PM I was hoping they would install the headlights from the E92 as they did with the M3 saloon

New York State Senate squashes Bloomberg's traffic charging plan for NYC {Autoblog}

Jul 17th 2007 3:19PM All that a congestion charge does is move the traffic jams somewhere else. Over here in London, driving around the ring road to avoid the £8 ($16) congestion charge is pure pain with long delays as hundreds of motorists try to drive down a one lane road.

The only way to get around the congestion charge is to either drive a licensed taxi, a motorcycle a hybrid or fully electric car or simply walk.

Is this news a good thing? Yes but something needs to be done line bus, taxi and motorcycle lanes like we have in the UK. This, in a small way, does encourage people to take public transport rather than driving which can only be good for business.

"CEO 1" numberplate brings record £154,100 bid on eBay {Autoblog}

Jul 12th 2007 1:55PM Over in Hong Kong, they are willing to pay even more. The number 12 (sounds like "certainly easy" in Cantonese) went for HK$7.1m (about $910,000) and the number 9 went for HK$13m (about $4m in 1993)

Aussie speeding PSA hits below the belt {Autoblog}

Jun 27th 2007 10:05AM Unlike the UK, Aussies like to tell it like it is or as we say in the UK, call a spade a spade. It is similar to the drink driving ad they had a couple of years back,

"if you drink and drive, you're a bloody idiot" to which the response was "but if you make it home, you're a *censored* legend" lol

I believe these ads are alot more effective than the British ads. The UK Police even admit that the message isn't getting through. With ads like "there he is, there he is, there he is" in a monotonous tone followed by a car crash isn't as effective as "check left and right and then check your friggin blindspot."
