First Drive: 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen {Autoblog}
May 14th 2008 3:03AM good luck getting a manual tdi in the states. who cares about the press, vw's been firmly behind dsg since they were the first to offer it in series production, better performance and mileage make it a no brainier for them, along with the vast majority of Americans preferring slush boxes these days.
Officially Official: New Ferrari California exposed! {Autoblog}
May 13th 2008 10:33AM Nah to be IS-F they need to be fake, something tells me ferrari's not filled with dolts incapable of actually building an exhaust with quad pipes vertically paired on each side (vs, you know, four fake tips mounted to the rear).

May 13th 2008 2:08AM Yeah, it's weird to see an automaker without it standard... though I guess it makes sense when you're offering cars below 14k.

May 12th 2008 6:35PM Same here, no issues since purchasing the '02 mkiv tdi, or '05 b5 tdi, or '06 Jetta 2.0T, or '07 GTi, or '08 R32. Thankfully.
Then again, my 4000s did go 325,000 miles, though around that time the driver side door refused to unlock, talk about crappy build quality.

May 12th 2008 2:43PM Yeah, Tata's doing it because families of 4+ on scooters isn't safe. I'll be very surprised if Nissan meets their goal.
VW Rabbit gets a carrot from Consumer Reports {Autoblog}
May 12th 2008 1:50AM Um, I'm looking at the order books now, and the front wheel drive tiguan is 100% available with MT, not sure where you're getting your information but it's certainly not VWoA.

May 11th 2008 9:36PM Rabbit TDI will do 62mpg on the highway and we won't be getting it in North America per the current VWoA conversations, maybe in the future.

May 11th 2008 6:18PM I'm curious what new VW's you've had that have suffered reliability issues and what they are, mostly because I'm not a huge fan of judging new product lineups on those of 47 years ago, seems a little beyond silly.
VW isn't going to have any problems. The US isn't their core market, and in their core markets (Europe, soon china) they're regarded as extremely reliable and well designed, and while the US might be a part of their march towards toyota like numbers, it's certainly not the linchpin in their strategy, not by a long shot.
