Audi system detects stop lights, tells drivers to floor it {Autoblog}
Jul 22nd 2008 9:46PM Very interesting concept. Definantly counts as a "green" technology because it reduces the "stop and go" of stop lights, which is inefficient.
Camaro interior animation lets you see the light {Autoblog}
Jul 22nd 2008 3:37PM not to hate, but I think it is really lame how the new camaro, challenger, and mustang are all supposed to be "retro" and look like old versions of the car. i dont understand why the designers cant create new designs for the car instead of jsut ripping off designers of years gone by. its ok to maybe do 1 car like that, or incorporate small design hints from the older cars, but i just find it silly how these companies are practically copying the old mustang, or the old camaro, etc etc. do something NEW and EXCITING. push the boundaries and try something different as opposed to using something that is accepted as being a muscle car. dont just ride on the image you produced 30 years ago, make a new image for yourself.
but hey, thats just imho.

Volkswagen considering offering Polo in U.S. market {Autoblog}
Jul 18th 2008 4:00PM I saw a VW Polo driving around near where I live the other day. I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn't a Golf/GTI, but it was for sure a Polo.
We bet they have a great personality - PickupTrucks.com picks the 5 ugliest truck concepts {Autoblog}
Jul 15th 2008 8:28PM chevy doesnt look bad at all. imo its not a bad direction for pickups to move in the direction of that and be more aerodynamic.
dodge doesnt look too bad either. a bit goofy, but not bad
Audi RS4 to get supercharged V6, R8 V10 to remain NA {Autoblog}
Jul 15th 2008 12:39PM I declare shenanigans.
Despite the fact that they will get more torque from a blown engine, there is no chance in hell they are dropping RS4 horsepower from 420hp to 350hp, a mere 10hp more than the current and last gen S4. Even the original RS4 back in 2000 had 380hp.
And the twin turbo V10 from the RS6 will be in the R8. Not a N/A engine like that "mole" says. Even the S8's V10 only puts out 450 hp, a mere 30 more than the current V8 R8. They have the technology to use the TT V10, it only seems logical that it will be used in their range-topping supercar.

Volkswagen releases three concepts... from 2028 {Autoblog}
Jul 8th 2008 4:05PM take into account the fact that we are currently in a frenzy to have gas free/gas friendly cars because of the seemingly endless raise in prices, it is not entirely impossible. I mean maybe they do have a bit of an imagination, but many of the things they are saying are current or new technologies taken to the next level.
In 1988 navigation systems were fairly futuristic seeming, especially if they would tell you a new route if there was traffic. That is something available in most mid-range cars today.
Paint that can change colors, well Nissan is already developing that.
In 1988 hybrid technologies were just first starting to blossom, today the word "hybrid" is pretty much an everyday concept.
Today blind spot sensors, lane assist, parking sensors, and other such concepts are just beginning to break surface. Give them 20 years to blossom and no accidents almost seems possible.
At first glance these cars look "too futuristic" for 20 years from now, or that the concepts they talk about are out of reach, but if you stop and think about the technologies we currently have and give them 20 years to grow, much of what they say is possible or at least plausible.
