My thoughts stated exactly!
In the Autoblog Garage: 2009 Lincoln MKS {Autoblog}
Jul 7th 2008 4:37PM I got to check-out an MKZ at the Lincoln Mercury dealer in Southgate Michigan during the DownRiver Cruise.
That thing was tall! It was darn near a cross-over vehicle.
Maybe we should be comparing it to a BMW X6 instead of luxury sedans! Your Grandpa's hot rod Lincoln.

Jul 2nd 2008 1:08PM Did we hear anymore about the contest to name the G8ST and win a G8ST ????
I just gotta win...
I gave away my 170,000 mile 1996 GMC Safari away to my son and have nothing to tow my jet ski & boat!
My 75 horsepower Pinto just doesn't cut the mustard in that department.
Automotive Traveler offers "Car photography for dummies" {Autoblog}
Jun 29th 2008 8:14AM You know what I hate....
Too many artsy-fartsy partial auto clips without a total picture of the car. Put that as rule #1.
About IN & OUT BURGER, I can remember when I lived in California that they used to give out bumper stickers. Then they had their people go out and find someone with a bumper sticker and give them money. It all ended very badly because everyone was blanking out the 'B' and the 'R' on the word burger. Ha Ha Ha

Jun 19th 2008 10:38PM Carbuzzard, good analogy with one exception:
The difference is that all the cereals are in one store.
This difference is what creates the multiple branding problem.
If they could put multiple brands under one roof, problem solved.
GM, Ford exporting $2 billion in vehicles, parts to China {Autoblog}
Jun 18th 2008 12:05AM This should have been negotiated a long time ago with our large trade deficit. At that, this is only a baby step.
Before that Paulson would only negotiate to open the financial markets for the big banks. Now that US banks are the joke of the world, we need to get to the meat & pataoes of manufacturing. That is where true value is added and our standard of living is derived.
Autos are the largest dollar amount in trade with our key trading partners. Germany, Japan, Korea. So USA auto exports to China is a key ingredient to fix our trade deficit problem with China.
Example: We should be seeing V6 Mustangs at a low sell price in China. Not with all the taxes added.
The only way the USA will start to fix their long term economic model is to have the RMB correctly valued and to have open markets in BOTH directions immediately. Not later after we give all the keys away.
GM seeking Chinese suitor for HUMMER? {Autoblog}
Jun 16th 2008 9:49AM I don't think it would be wise to give a Chinese company an already set-up dealer network, share technology, and then let them morph to other vehicles.
Did you see the Hummer China copy that is already out there? I forgot the brand name. How is a China company going to sell Hummer at premium prices with a clone already out there?
Rumormill: Ford converting North American factories to make European cars {Autoblog}
Jun 15th 2008 9:07PM Dustin,
I agree. However, for this to really work, we must also export. GM, Ford, & Chrysler need to get more aggressive with an export model.
Lexus, Chrysler to join GM in adding CPO fleet to eBay {Autoblog}
Jun 13th 2008 10:21PM Darn, I was looking for a Certified preowned Ford Tempo and couldn't find one.
Rumormill: Ford working on four-door Mondeo coupe {Autoblog}
Jun 9th 2008 8:43AM The present Mondeo that I see in China is a very beautiful car. I give Ford designers a lot of credit on this model. Too bad the design didn't carry over into the states.
