The Album is Dead... {Blog Maverick}
Jan 17th 2008 10:08PM Super idea.
Have you discovered Pandora.com? I love it. I have listened to more music and different genres than ever before.
The cool part is the artists get paid when you listen.
You choose the genre and sub genre, then like Amazon, it will make recommendations based on what you like.
Internet radio at it's best.
It's great for those of use who don't care if we hear the same song more than once, but like a style.
Plus a listener can experiment and perhaps discover new stuff.
CES 2008: Wagoner to unveil Cadillac Provoq Concept tomorrow {Autoblog}
Jan 7th 2008 12:37PM Way too little, way too late. Markf was snarky about it, but his point is valid. This could take another 20 year's a the automaker's pace of innovation (or lack thereof) to even be close to reality.
Sounds like PR crap to me.
Burgess builds a dream car from the best parts of 2007 {Autoblog}
Jan 2nd 2008 8:24PM Isn't it sad that the car biz hasn't been near as innovative as the rest of the U.S. biz in the last 40 years?
Think about stuff we use everyday that have dramatically improved because of innovation.
And we're still driving the same basic configuration as 40 years ago.
Even by taking the BEST of the concepts, there are no significant innovations.

Do Blog Comments Have Value ? {Blog Maverick}
Nov 21st 2007 9:04PM It would seem to me that it depends on your level of sensitivity. If inappropriate comments bother the blogger they need to moderate.
I do think there are thoughtful comments, but probably not as often as one might think. If it's a thoughtful comment, it's probably going to end up to be a post on somebody's blog with a trackback.
BTW: your last mile post was excellent. Until government considers the internet to be necessary infrastructure, the U.S. will fall hopelessly behind other technologically advanced countries. Sweden has 16 mbps, S. Korea 45 mbps, China 60 mbps.
Since Kentucky has the model for "broadband" access, we are in a heap o' trouble.
Never Friend Anyone Over 29 {Blog Maverick}
Nov 6th 2007 5:20PM I had to quit FB when Best Half saw all the sweet young thangs that invited me to friend them.
I'm back with the understanding that if they ask, I won't accept.
We agreed I can't friend any females younger than me, and that's dicey. Guys, no problem!
As soon as I get her on FB and she sees how it works we'll be cool.
(I'm sixty, BTW)

Will baby boomers bankrupt social security? {BloggingStocks}
Oct 24th 2007 5:24PM You are right about nothing being done until a crisis is at hand. We have no leaders that are willing to say "raise taxes or lower benefits."
Anyone under 50 who has SS as part of their retirement plan has not been paying attention.
Baby boomers (that's me) will SS and Medicare.

Aug 7th 2007 5:56PM Cramer is an entertainer right? He gets on a low rated cable network for a few minutes and everybody is buzzing about it.
Who would have thought this approach would work in the stodgy investment business? I guess you want to run with the cool kid.
