Raikonen's F1 title questioned, then confirmed; McLaren to appeal {Autoblog}

Oct 22nd 2007 2:36PM Check your math. McL would have handily won the WCC this year.

Kimi won the WDC because Kimi was awesome and won 6 races, and both Hamilton and Alonso choked at critical times. Ferrari would have lost the WCC because Massa did not deliver when he had to and the cars were not reliable enough. Fantastic season. The best guy won the WDC, and a star was born. Really the best script. As a F1 fan for many years, a dream come true.

Now, some people want to turn F1 into the Davinci Code. The FIA didnt conspire to win it for Hamilton. Hamilton did. He won four races and finished almost every race on the podium. He beat Alonso, the defending champ, in the same car, fair and square many times. Alonso demolished Fisichella and Trulli, no pay driver hacks, in the same car.

Now people carp about:
1. Nurburgring. LH spins off in the pouring rain, gets back on the track under the rules. He finishes way down the order anyway.
2. Fuji. Vettel admits hes not looking where he's going, runs into his 'teammate,' and its Hamilton's fault. A mysterious fan sends a youtube link to the FIA and investigation is opened at its conspiraicy for Lewis?
3. Hungary. Alonso sits in the pits to get the last run blocking Hamilton and its LH's fault because Alonso was punished, even after Alsonso's number one fan Ron Dennis defends him?
4. Brazil. He blocks Kimi? What did Kimi say about it? Did Kimi loose time. Lets flash back to Alonso "blocking" Massa at Monza last year 300 meters ahead, while were at it? Did we notice that the FIA put an official observer in the pits to make sure FA has the best chance to win. And all this is a conspiracy for LH to win? Seriously, now.

Newspaper says 1,400 deaths blamed on bad airbags {Autoblog}

Oct 22nd 2007 11:46AM Maddening. The problem is not that the article is sensational, its nonsense. An airbag does not "cause" an injury if it does not deploy. Yes, a jury could be allowed to say so, if the airbag is legally "defective," but that's not a issue of cause, but rather fault. Two totally different things. (And it's why Thom Yorke was being ironic about his fast german car accident.)

Lexus returns the favor to Audi in new ads {Autoblog}

Oct 17th 2007 1:23PM Since my VW is somewhat less than reliable, I suspect, and with certain pride, that it is in essence a appropriately priced Audi. Hee.

The Lexus ad just makes Audi's point better: Audi drivers take the dare, Lexus drivers are taking the piss.

Cheers!
