2011 Porsche Panamera could be world's most expensive hybrid {Autoblog Green}

Jul 23rd 2008 12:42PM There is nothing remotely green about this car. Is there any justification for posting about it in a "green" blog, unless it is in the category of GREEN-WASHING?

Obama pledges $4b in aid for Detroit automakers {Autoblog}

Jul 23rd 2008 11:54AM Dave, You write: "Oh sure, it would help American industry, at the cost our health care system."

Yet Americas health care system is one of the worst among advanced nations judging by infant mortality, life span, access to health care, and many other metrics.

Furthermore, a national health care system does not preclude you from buying private insurance if you choose.

Do the neo-cons really have you that brainwashed? Do you ever travel and talk to people in other countries? Read news from other countries? The comments in this thread are a sad reflection the educational level of many Americans.

Obama pledges $4b in aid for Detroit automakers {Autoblog}

Jul 23rd 2008 9:52AM It is stunning how many here demonstrate that they do not know the meaning of "socialism" or "Marxism". If the executives running GM and Ford are as poorly educated, it is no wonder that they are in trouble.

By the way, a national health care plan would do a lot to help American industry. As would a proper government regulated and guaranteed retirement plan.

Mongol Rally 2008 offsets CO2 emissions {Autoblog Green}

Jul 23rd 2008 9:29AM So, if not for the rally, the trees would not have been planted? Perhaps it might be better to plant the trees for each team that chooses not to participate.

John McCain flip-flops on state level CO2 regulation {Autoblog Green}

Jul 21st 2008 7:58PM gholland ,

Dog gone it, you told em! That's a real show of conservative brain power you put on there. "Except it's not", dang, your smart as a neo-con whip. Wanna be in my, I mean McCain's, cabinet?

John McCain flip-flops on state level CO2 regulation {Autoblog Green}

Jul 20th 2008 8:12PM The US is a liberal country and this post echos the concerns of the vast majority of Americans today. Liberalism is now the mainstream. The neo-con right wing fringe had its chance and it drove America to the edge of ruin. So it's perfectly reasonable to question the policies and statements of the man who is running for Bush's third term. I, along with most of the world's citizens, are interested.

And you might not want to use "socialist" as a pejorative. Most of the "socialist" European countries are kicking America's tush when it comes to lifespan, vacation time, child mortality, social security, freedom of the press, lack of corruption, and economic performance.

And you might note that Al Gore received a Nobel prize, probably the greatest honor in the world. It is disgusting to see neo-cons disparage the great work he has done, given how much destruction and suffering they have wrought.

T. Boone Pickens unveils "The Plan" - big on wind power and natural gas {Autoblog Green}

Jul 8th 2008 4:47PM The idea of promoting wind power is wonderful, but ole Boon lost his creditability a long time ago. Remember his disgusting swan dive into the toilet of hate-politics and lies; the smell will never wash off. Now most civilized Americans will want anything to do with him. The sad old windbag is mostly promoting himself now. But there are far better spokesmen for, and businessmen in, alternative energy today.

BMW chimes in on proposed U.S. CAFE standards {Autoblog Green}

Jul 2nd 2008 10:08AM BMW has been very successful at convincing their gullible American customers that they need rear wheel drive cars with 300, 400, or more horsepower to commute on our traffic clogged roads and careen to the big box store on weekends. BMW should have a much easier time convincing those same buyers that horsepower and poor gas mileage are not really a substitute for manhood. Then they can get down to the business of selling their more practical cars, as they do on the continent.

By the Numbers June 2008: Not That Bad Edition {Autoblog}

Jul 2nd 2008 5:55AM Dealer service does indeed suck (that was true of my M5 as well). They rattle and build quality is marginal. But they handle brilliantly and are much easier to drive at the limit than a RWD car. The auto industry sold consumers on the advantages of front-wheel drive; now they are pushing rear wheel drive again. "Trade em in boys, this year you need 400hp and RWD".

Prince Charles' Aston runs on a gallon of sack... wine, that is {Autoblog}

Jul 2nd 2008 5:40AM Vin Anglais? What else could one possibly do with it? Oh yes, they might sell it to Americans.
