Im sorry, but NOPE. You might sell a handfull of them to parents of college kids to take to school with them for campus driving. Can you imagine driving on the interstate highway in one of these things? No ? I thought not.Neither can anyone else.Sorry no sale.Too small. How about a car twice as big with half the mileage
Though Herb has a nice thought, but to totally dismiss this vehicle as a no sale is being small minded. It is not too small, it the perfect size for those that have to drive 20 or more miles to work everyday. It would be a great daily driver to and from work. Living in the Southwest and having to commute more than 20 miles one way to work daily. This is a sale! As for interstate highway, I ride a motorcycle on the interstate highway everyday and this looks a lot larger than my HD. I think most Southwest drivers would want something like this. It's a sale out West.
Just retuned from Europe last night where gas prices are similar to ours related to income levels. This car would be a "nice size car" there. The Ford Mondeo (Fusion) is a large car there and the Chevy Aveo is a good size family car. Many couples drive cars much smaller and they do well on the "interstates." Only the relatively wealthy drive something as big as a 300 Mercedes. Before long, we Americans will wake up to the fact that we don't NEED an SUV, or NEED a V8 full size pickup for a family car. That will happen when we max out all our credit cards buying gas for them.
Cool! I did not see any outside mirrors. I wonder if that would cause any significant drag to lower the gas milage? If the price of the comes down significantly to be affordable. Americans will buy it as a 2nd or 3rd car to use to get around town to work and to home.
Okay...I see both sides. Itis safer than a motorcycle and rain and sun and wind free for work driving or school driving, but what about real life. My daughter has a 4 year old a 3 year old and a2 year old she is driving my Tahoe. She has to be able to put 3 baby seats in a car for law and SAFETY and they have just now passed a new law that the child will need to weigh 98 lb or be 12 years old before they can get out of a car seat. I want some one to tell me that this is not a political BS law big cars- more gas and they want to punish anyone that has more than the 1 1/2 child. Where are you going to put a kid in the VW or groceries or Home Depot crap or your life. I am sick of being controlled. I SAY HELL NO VW!
